Zahra Baker’s Father Calls 911

10/20/2010

Listen to the 911 call

October 9, at 1:58 pm, Adam Baker called police to report his daughter, Zahra was missing.

It has to be one of the strangest 911 calls.  Baker remains flat through the whole conversation.  The lack of emotion in recounting events certainly has raised many eyebrows!

The kicker is his explanation as to why, possibly, it took so long to realize she was missing.  …”my daughter is I think coming into puberty…cause she’s hitting that brooding stage (he laughs) so we only see her when she comes out when she wants something…”

Is that bizarre or what?

Meanwhile, stepmom, Elisa Baker is still being held on numerous unrelated charges and for obstruction relating to her admission to writing the ransom note found at the home.  Her attorneys filed a motion yesterday requesting a reduction in bail.  She is currently under $72k bond.  A hearing in the matter will be held today.

Hickory Police continue to search for Zahra and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has been in Hickory since last Sunday.
