Brooke Bennett’s Uncle, Michael Jacques – A Depraved Monster

11/10/2010

Charged with the June 2008 kidnap, drugging, rape and murder of his niece, 12-year-old, Brooke Bennett, Michael Jacques continues to make headlines.  He remains behind bars at a federal jail in Brooklyn, N.Y.

324 pages of documents reveal how Michael Jacques plotted to have a friend send e-mails to numerous parties designed to shift blame for Brooke Bennett’s killing from him to a mysterious — but phony — sex ring that preyed on young girls.  Yeah, the same phony sex ring he duped another young girl with, to help him lure Brooke to his house!

“We killed Brooke and you know we did,” said one of the e-mails,  but actually handwritten by Michael Jacques. “There is enough proof in these e-mails that we just couldn’t otherwise know. And you have to admit, we were brilliant. Now you need to find us.”

Defense attorneys requested that incriminating statements made to his friend Michael Garcia, between July 4 and Aug. 14, 2008 be tossed.  What Jacques didn’t know, Garcia was cooperating with government lawyers!

Federal prosecutors attached the damning statements to a motion opposing the request by Jacques’ attorneys last month.  A two day hearing will commence December 9 and a decision will be made if the statements can be used in Jacques’ trial, tentatively set for September.

Prosecutors contend Jacques hoped the e-mails would raise enough questions about the strength of the government’s case. He hoped by creating reasonable doubt it would turn public opinion and result in his being released from jail.

“I want to be recognized and acknowledged at the end of the day for standing up for my family and sort of ‘taking one for the team,’ so to speak. That tactic will essentially put enormous public pressure on and suspicion back on the authorities. The hope is they will look for a way to bow out gracefully.”

He also provide Garcia with ways to avoid detection when sending the emails!

“You should use public access computer if possible,” he wrote. “If not get a cheap ($80) hard drive for your laptop and use that drive to send e-mails. Then, when we are done, you can throw away hard drive that sent e-mails.”

A handwritten, 27-page draft of the e-mail Jacques wanted Garcia to type and send out under the name “Candyman” to the lead prosecutor in the case, Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Nolan was also included in the motion.

A copy of that email was also to be sent to defense attorney Michael Desautels, an FBI agent and several media outlets.

“We run an international service for wealthy clients who have fetishes, let’s say, apart from the mainstream,” the proposed e-mail to Nolan read, sketching out a purported clientele who will pay money to the service to find them young American girls they can torture and murder.

“Essentially, we find the targets, make the arrangements and create assurances the client will never be caught,” read the draft e-mail, signed “C-man” — short for Candyman.

The e-mail described in graphic detail the position of Brooke’s body when she was buried.  It also noted the time of her death down to the minute.

According to the prosecutions motion, “Jacques’ handwritten narrative eliminates any doubt that he was Brooke’s killer.”

If this doesn’t scream guilty, I don’t know what does!

It’s good to finally have some news of this case. It horrified everyone back in summer, 2008. Unfortunately, the Caylee Anthony case began just after Jacques was arrested. Another reason for the silence is the fact this case has gone Federal and MSM has, for the most part moved on.

I didn’t think I could feel any more revulsion for Michael Jacques, but he’s managed to dig himself deeper into his pit of depravity.

Thanks for the awful update and let’s hope people take notice of this case.

    Thank you for remembering Brooke!

She deserves our love and care, as do all of our lost children!
