Casey Anthony – Attorneys Gone Wild

After fumbling around for over two years, the clowns on the Anthony defense team have apparently stayed up to the wee hours of the morning frantically using their crayons and magic markers.  The time has been used to frenetically flood the court with a series of motions.  One has to wonder if they just woke up to the fact there is really going to be a trial!

You already know they want the knife, shovel, testimony from George saying his prima donna daughter was a liar and a thief, as well as testimony regarding Casey’s overly charged libido tossed.

Anybody notice the numbers of names mispelled in the motions?  Also wonder if Mason has refiled the motions in order of noticing the State!

While the good Judge Belvin Perry has already pushed off his previously scheduled vacation, he has scheduled a hearing for January 3 on all six motions.  I can’t imagine Judge Perry has much patience left for these buffoons!

But, the real show stopper was filed, not by the defense, but by Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton!  He wants sanctions against the defense because they are, “…in deliberate non-compliance with the court’s order as to certain of their listed experts and that sanctions to address the non-compliance are necessary.”

Mr. Ashton addresses Dr. Henry Lee‘s testimony saying Lee, “will render opinions on…crime scene analysis, collection and preservation as well as recovery.”

Saying Lee will rebut false claims by crime scene investigators, “is disingenuous and just plain laughable.”

“If Dr. Lee has no opinions that would impeach the testimony of any witness, then compliance with this court’s order would require a statement to that effect.” If he has relevant opinions, the court’s order requires that they be listed and the facts supporting them be clearly stated.”

Ashton also says Dr. Werner Spitz will most likely testify to the same findings of Chief Medical Examiner Jan Garavaglia, so what differing opinion could he possibly offer?

Next he addresses Kathy Reichs and William Rodriguez and that they will  ‘rebut false claims raised by the State’s forensic anthropologists,’ which cannot be known until they testify.  Again a disingenuous and laughable claim.”

On to DNA expert Richard Eikelenboom! “Once again, it is impossible to determine which of the over thirty experts and a dozen crime scene technicians that the witness will allegedly rebut,” Ashton says. “The excuse provided is laughable and indicative of the deliberate attempt to flaunt the rules and intent of discovery and this court’s order.”

Ashton bluntly states, “the information provided is in fact no information at all.”

Ashton says the State will reserve its request on specific sanctions until a hearing is scheduled, but he firmly indicates the clowns have violated Florida criminal procedures in following discovery rules because the State has been placed in a position where, “It is impossible to depose and prepare for testimony to be provided by these witnesses with the information currently provided by the defense.”

He also cites rules stating an attorney can be subject to “contempt proceedings” and costs by violating discovery rules.

Kudos Mr. Ashton!

Don’t know about you guys, but this early Christmas gift from Mr. Ashton is a special treat and likely to include a fireworks display to rival the 4th of July!

Oh yeah, Baez had till the 21st to submit invoices for Henry Lee and for the other defense experts travel.  Any bets whether or not he complied?  Any bets on how many of his so-called experts will actually travel to Orlando?

Isn’t a beautiful day? What a Merry Christmas present from Mr. Ashton!

It was about time!!! You gotta love Mr. Ashton!

BTW, thank you for the article, I knew it would be a good one today, donchais!!

I am so curious if JB handed over Dr. Lee’s paperwork to JP and JAC. I have no idea when we will get to know that… who would like to take a trip to JAC and get the papers for us? LOL

JB took colored crayons and markers to another level!!! I hope he had some fun responding to Mr. Ashton’s motion (NOT)!!! LOL

    Cheers to Mr. Ashton!!

Morning FRG! It is a beautiful day!

I was tickled to see Ashton smack-down Baez, but am also saddened by how big a cesspool Baez and Mason have turned the legal system into. Sadder yet is the fact that there has been no justice for little Caylee!

Well, yes you are right! What it is important is that Prosecutors are doing a great job in representing Caylee, I have faith she will have her justice!

As far as JB and CM, they will fade into the background… hopefully JB will get back to selling bikinis and CM will regret his last trial will be something for him to regret. IMO

My biggest concern would be grounds for an appeal but we heard KC stating IIRC to Judge Strickland she was happy about JB, so she will have nothing to complain about, she had her chance.

It is so about time! The State’s attorneys have held back on strong measures and now their feet are to the fire to complete their depositions and Baez continues to play games with discovery.

My fingers are itching to read the WHOLE motion by Ashton. You have to know there are some good things that didn’t make it to the Sentinel.

I’m just waiting for a hearing on this to see Judge Perry’s looks at the defense table!

Agreed! How Burdick and Ashton have restrained themselves from jumping over the table and grabbing Baez and Mason by their throats and throttling them will remain one of life’s little mysteries to me, lol!

Good Morning everyone. Super article !! Thanks for the great Christmas gift Mr. Ashton. I think the pressure on Baez has just begun !! Happy New year DT. Remember Judge Perry said he would be taking over in Jan. I think we will see different side of JP in the new year. I just loved it when he laughed at Baez in court when the jerk tried to act like he didn’t know the motion (concerning Mr.Kronk) had to be HEARD by the 31st of Dec. He just has to push those deadlines, but doesn’t even know when they are. Merry Christmas to every one on this blog. And Justice for little Caylee coming soon !

donchais – I want to send Merry Christmas greetings to you and loved ones. I want to thank you so much for keeping us updated on the Anthony case. May Caylee be resting peacefully among the angels, and even more so once her vile mother is found guilty of pre-mediated, first-degree murder.

donchais~~ Mr. Ashton has given me reason to hope that justice will be served. It is men such as Mr. Ashton that inspire young people to go into the legal profession. No wonder it took Baez eight years to be admitted to the bar. He does’t have a clue on how a professional attorney should conduct himself. They say that the past is prologue. All you have to do is look at Baez’s past behavior, to predict how he is going to handle this case. I do wonder what Chaney Mason was thinking when he decided to be Baez’s partner in crime?

Rob, Jeff Ashton is a dedicated, hard-working, ethical lawyer (as is Linda Drane-Burdick)…something Baez aspired to be, but has from – imo – early childhood, been lazy, dishonest and a cheat! The Italian suits and shoes, the flashy ties and the grand home (which he hasn’t paid the mortgage on for almost as long as Cindy and George defaulted on their mortgage) don’t make the man or the lawyer!

As for Mason, I am totally of the belief (not with solid proof) that he is somewhat impaired mentally – by what means, I don’t wish to speculate.

According to WFTV, Bozo has decided the meter reader, Roy Kronk, is no longer a suspect in the murder of Caylee Anthony. Who will the defense point their finger at next?
