Casey Anthony’s Defense – Ya Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up

01/27/2011

It’s been an interesting week for bobble head Baez.  He’s like the energizer bunny and just keeps providing fodder!

Seriously, I'm working as hard as I can and I have a 'unique opportunity' coming up!

Those poor, tortured TES searchers confirmed the area where little Caylee’s remains were found was indeed under water.  No surprise there for those following the case, but was it a surprise to the defense team?  They promised us they found many witnesses that would bolster the defense’s position that somebody placed Caylee there while Casey’s butt was behind bars!  Many us have wondered whether Baez or Mason even spoke to the searchers or just left it to the State to depose them so they could hear what the searchers would say.

Next we find out Baez – using the same old, same old – wants an additional 300 hours investigative time paid for by Florida taxpayers.  For those of you keeping score, this is the third time Baez used the lame excuses that, ‘it’s not fair because the State has unlimited resources for their case’ as well as, ‘the State keeps turning over evidence and we need to investigate’.  Two things stand out about this latest request.  First, geez Jose, get someone to write you some new material.  Your reasons are old, tired and as boring as reruns of Nightmare on Elm Street!  Second, doesn’t this just truly highlight the whole TES debacle?  So much wasted time and dollars on one hell of a pricey fishing expedition, no?

Moving right along, Baez has proven – in the famous words of Judge Jackie Glass when sentencing OJ – he is both arrogant AND ignorant!  Just what the heck did he think he paid $583 for?  He willfully ignored the direction of the Court in regards to the defense expert witnesses.  He gave some pretty lame excuses to the Judge for being late and when asked about the expert witness reports he told Judge Perry he expected he could comply in 30 days.  The good Judge distinctly told Baez that 30 days was way too long.  So what does the bobble head do?  Yup, ding, ding, ding, he files Motion For Extension Of Time To Comply With Order For Expert Witness Reports.

What is pretty lame is how he pats himself on the back for providing some of the reports to the prosecution.  But the items of interest contained in the motion are: Dr. Henry Lee is out.  Dr. Michael Freeman is out. Dr. Leeson is a consultant and won’t testify.

Information was submitted that Dr. Spitz suffered a perforated bowel and has undergone two surgeries so his report is not complete.  FYI, the injury occurred just before Christmas.  Is it me?  Spitz has been involved since the very beginning and it was in November that Jeff Ashton went ballistic, but here it is January 25th and Baez is just finding out about all this?

Baez apparently can’t raise the chemist Dr. Logan by phone, but he’s been available to the defense before so Baez doesn’t feel this is a problem!

Dr. Bill Rodriguez has just been given information to review, but hasn’t had sufficient time to do so, meaning he hasn’t formed any opinions yet.  He is still a consultant in Taphonomy, yet that has never been approved by the Court.

Dr, Kathy Reichs has no report because she has been traveling!  Baez states, “The Defense would like the opportunity to meet with experts Reichs and Rodriguez prior to them rendering their opinions…”. Get this, Baez want 45 days more time!  He explains in the motion that he has substantially complied with the Court’s order!  Just what the hell have you been doing Mr. Baez?  What part of Judge Perry saying 30 days was way too long for him to comply, did he not understand?  Baez doesn’t seem to realize this isn’t a Chinese menu and you pick and choose from the various columns!

And last but not least, Linda Drane Burdick got it on record, State Of Florida’s Inventory of Discovery On Flash Drive Recieved 1/14/2011!   It appears to be a rather silly little list.  Baez supplied some old video of Gale St. John, Krystal Holloway, Maya Derkovic, a CBS photo titled New Evidence in Caylee Case with no other identifying information.  And what probably tickled the SAO the most, a photo of ASA’s Drane Burdick, George and Ashton on Suburban Drive!

Like I said, ya just can’t make this stuff up!

Please never, ever forget, Caylee paid the ultimate price and no matter how much BS the defense puts out, this is about justice for a precious little girl!

Oh, and look for a prosecution doc dump tomorrow!

Donchais, great summary of recent events. I’m sitting here, sitting on my hands and waiting for a reply from Jeff Ashton. He’s got to be hot under the collar at all of this. I suppose a typically brilliant reply does take a while to write, however, unlike a lot of the garbled nonsense emanating from the Baez camp.

It is about Caylee, I never, ever, let that go away. It’s so easy to forget what started this whole mess. I hate to say it, but “smoke and mirrors” fits, as usual. Unfortunately for Mr. Baez, his “smoke” is rather transparent.

I’m on pins and needles waiting for Mr. Ashton’s reply and for Judge Perry’s reaction!

Seeing the Courts past performance in handling their clown lawyer company, it will surprise me if judge Perry grows a set and does anything to Baez for fear of an overturned verdict.
Perry should have stopped Baez long ago. All they are doing is wasting taxpayers money. Remember, Baez did not spend his own money on investigations in the case or any other facet of law. Half concocted motions that a grammar school child could write is the best that he could generate. The Florida legal profession has got to be the laughing stock in America. Send Baez to Nevada and we will give him what OJ’s lawyer (Cale Galanter?) received. Judge Glass told him to sit down and shut up in no uncertain terms when he tried the Florida legal looney tunes.
Baez and his tramp girl have said they would cost Florida more money than any case in history and they are doing it and laughing at the powers that be. It has become a disgusting, unprofessional, waste of time and money. Good luck Florida.

Mike, we are all disgusted by the mockery Baez is creating.

I honestly feel Judge Perry is doing a very difficult job in walking a fine line to avoid a retrial – don’t forget, Mason has raised that possibility more than once. Imagine the cost to taxpayers should that happen!

If, on the odd chance Perry gives an extension (I sincerely doubt it would be the 45 days Baez thinks he’s due) I wouldn’t have too much of a problem as long as a $500 a day sanction goes hand-in-hand with it! Perry will get this to trial on time!

I am dreaming of an emergency hearing being called for 5 pm tomorrow. Wouldn’t it be great to see Judge Perry hold him in contempt over the weekend in the county jail? LOL

Teehee! At this point, I’m just dying to see Jeff Ashton’s reply. An emergency hearing would be icing on the cake!

Donchais you said, “If, on the odd chance Perry gives an extension (I sincerely doubt it would be the 45 days Baez thinks he’s due) I wouldn’t have too much of a problem as long as a $500 a day sanction goes hand-in-hand with it! Perry will get this to trial on time!”

I say bravo to your suggestion! If the defense insists on dragging their compliance out let it be at their own expense! The old cliche’ close only counts in horseshoes comes to mind.

Donchais, Now that the SA is releasing another 600 (?) pages of discovery, Baez will be back at the money trough asking for big investigative bucks and more time. And the way it is going, it will be granted. Seems like it is never ending.

Hi katfish! I say hit Baez in the wallet – it seems to be one of the few things he understands!
