Jodi Arias – Attorneys Want Evidence Barred

They’re scared and well should be.  The defense wants the court to prohibit the prosecution from presenting evidence that could show a lack of remorse on Arias’ part in the brutal 2008 death of Travis Alexander. For background on the case, see 2012 Begins With Hearings, Pleas And Trials Scheduled.

The attorneys feel the evidence may hurt her chances in court and result in a harsher sentence if she’s found guilty.  (my emphasis)  That evidence would include several interviews given by Arias.

Well cheese and crackers!  Arias loves the attention and granted those interviews willingly.  She was not coerced and the interviews were not recorded covertly.  She just can’t stop flapping her jaws!

In the interviews, she appears calm and collected, but shows no emotion whatsoever.  She only becomes animated when speaking about herself.  When specifically asked about Travis, she either diverted the questions or refused to answer. (In preparation for her jailhouse interview – just three months after Travis died – Jodi is seen asking for face powder to primp before the interview begins!)

Now, if Jodi didn’t kill her ex-boyfriend and knowing the grisly details of the savage attack, wouldn’t you be so emotionally devastated and distraught you would weep/breakdown?

Now, if Jodi did kill Travis, wouldn’t you at least make an effort to finger poke your eye, a la Casey Anthony, to make it appear you were shedding tears for your boyfriend?

If convicted of murder – and there is some damning evidence – I say let the evidence be introduced.  The jury should see who Jodi really is!  If the jury hands down a harsher sentence because of it, so be it!  That bell can’t be unrung. It happened, it’s on tape, it is what it is!

Wisely, Judge Sherry Stephens wouldn’t rule on the motion, it is premature because Arias has not been found guilty.

Hearings are scheduled for September 24 and October 16 with the trial to begin November 19.  Just remember, this trial has been postponed several times before.

BTW, the photo at the beginning of this article is Jodi’s mug shot.  Now who poses with a coy smile for a mug shot?

I have to wonder why the defense even bothered to put such a motion on the table even before the trial has begun. During the prosecution’s case-in-chief, they will show portions of her interviews with LE and the media. It’s rather obvious from them that she has zero remorse. If she’s found guilty, the prosecution should have every right to point out what the jurors have already seen for themselves.

I wonder if this motion was HER idea?

As I said, I think they are really scared that Jodi’s big mouth has done major damage to the case. The interview with LE is a given to be brought in.

Maybe they brought it up now hoping the judge would also decide not allow the TV interviews to be brought in during trial and then hoping she also wouldn’t allow them in the penalty phase?

If it was HER idea, it stands to reason she knows her goose is cooked!

And consider this: if it was her attorneys idea, THEY know her goose is cooked!

Oh, I can’t wait for this trial. Travis needs justice. I want to watch her be roasted and toasted on that spit over the bbq!
