Jodi Arias Murder Trial – Day Twenty-Five

02/27/2013

It appears that Jodi’s word games and smart-ass responses had just about everybody wanting to bitch slap her!  The good news is Juan persevered and repeatedly exposed her lies, stalking and her obsession with sex.  Pretty sure the jury isn’t finding Arias’ antics endearing!

Btw, I went back and watched the last 3 minutes of court, while Nurmi was whining Jodi isn’t getting lunch and suffering from a migraine.  Estrella does not serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Inmates receive 2600 calories per day, they get brunch and dinner.  So looks like Jodi wants special treatment!

The migraine claim is absolutely bogus.  Sitting at the defense table, she exhibited zilch in terms of pain, light sensitivity or distress.  As an actress, she could have portrayed her supposed malady in a more believable way!  I would ask to see her migraine medication!

I think this is something Nurmi concocted and expect we will see some disruption in court proceedings.

Something else has been bothering me for a while.  During her 2008, 48 Hour interview, Jodi clearly stated, ‘If it was my choice, I would choose the death penalty because I don’t want to spend a life in prison.’  So, give her  what she wants, she already admitted slaughtering Travis and the self-defense claim is a load of crap.  Just sayin!

OK, so according to Judge Stephens, we’re supposed to begin at 10:15 MST.  Let’s see how close we get, lol.

Good lord, Nurmi asks to approach!

Court begins at 10:21.

Screen shot 2013-02-27 at 12.23.37 PMArias on the stand.

Ms. Arias, yesterday you told us you felt like a prostitute?  Yes.

Martinez plays audio of telephone call and Jodi clearly states is was great.

So you enjoyed it?  Yes.

Now we see video from 48 Hours…

Jodi tells 48 Hours how generous and kind Travis was.

Mr. Alexander was totally into to sex?  Yes, with me and other girls.

Were you in the same room with him when he was with another woman?  No, other people told me.

Haven’t you lied from the start of this case?  No.

Did you lie to the Det?  Yes.

Did you lie to 48 Hours?  Yes.

Lie to Danny Freeman?  Everyone.

But here on the stand you are telling the truth?  Yes.

May 10 phone call, Jodi says the bubble bath and how Travis made her feel so sexy and so hot.

Travis says before he met her he never jacked-off.

Jodi says if he was at her grandmother’s they would go at it all night.

Mr. Alexander never masturbated before he met you?  No…He said hardly ever.

Martinez plays the audio again and nails her lie!

You have no doubt about Mr. Alexander telling the truth?  Yes, I do.

You recorded the tape?  Yes.

It was always in your possession?  Yes.

Mr. Alexander didn’t know he was even being recorded?  No, we both made the tape.

Before, Jodi said they agreed to record it.  Now, she’s not so sure.

Now she claims the phone was stolen or lost, but she later found it.

This recording indicates your attitude toward sex with Mr. Alexander?  Yes.

You said you wanted to blossom and wanted him to help you do that?  Yes.

Ackkkkkk, she’s doing the damn word games again!

You and Mr. Alexander discussed making a sexual movie?  Yes.

In terms of blossoming sexually you asked Mr. Alexander to do certain things?  Yes.

Text messages….

She tells Travis she wants a good, well-deserved spanking and him to give her ass a well-deserved pounding!

Screen shot 2013-02-27 at 1.02.07 PM

Second message…

She refers to dressing up as a dirty little horny schoolgirl.

It was a consensual sexual relationship?  Yes, always.

She’s getting-off discussing this court!  Smirking and almost broke into a smile!

Have to say, Martinez has been moving in a ton of exhibits yesterday and today!

Anybody hear anything even close to abuse????

You enjoyed Mr. Alexander as much as he enjoyed you?  Yes.

Your pet name for Mr. Alexander was ‘hottie biscotti’.  Yes.

OMG, Martinez puts up and email to Ryan Burns where she calls HIM, ‘hottie biscotti’.

So Mr. Alexander wasn’t so special to you?  I called a lot of people that.

Ahh, the killing!

You told Det. Flores 2 different stories about the killing?  Yes.

You gave another story to 48 Hours?  Yes.

Martinez plays the video where Arias said she did see Travis the day he passed away.  A lot happened that day and she almost lost her life day…the ol’ ninja story!

Nowhere in any of the interviews did you ever indicate you had memory issues?  That’s correct.

Martinez says, you gave another version of that story on the second interview with 48 Hours?  Yes, I couldn’t keep my story straight!

The interviews with 48 Hours were not true?  Yes, I couldn’t keep my stories straight!

You went to Redding to rent the car for the trip to Mesa?  Yes.

She had a couple hundred dollars on her.

You told us Yreka is a small town and everybody knows everybody?  Yes, pretty much.

And everybody knows everybody’s business?  Pretty much.

If you went to the one or two car rental places in Yreka, somebody may have known what you were doing?  Maybe.

Juan onto the gas receipts and she kept them attempting to use as tax deductions.

She claims the rental was cheaper in Redding.

Doesn’t remember if her brother or sister-in-law dropped her off.  She claims she thinks her sister-in-law dropped her off.

She thinks she went the rental counter on her own.

She refused the red rental car because she heard that red cars get more tickets.

Noon recess called on Nurmi’s saying objection!

Btw, police do pay more attention red cars, speaking from experience.  Jodi definitely didn’t want to get stopped in Arizona!

After Jodi was elegantly served her highly nutritious, totally delicious lunch, Court resumes at 1:37.

The car rental in Redding was white?  Yes.

The car had a gas capacity of 12 gallons?  10 or 12.

She was running low on gas and pulled over.  Filled the car from a gas can.

Objection, foundation..approach…kill me please.

Martinez is showing gas receipts and says the car could probably hold 15 gallons!

Cheese and crackers, we’re back on her freakin memory issues!

You asked Mr. Brewer for gas cans?  I may have.

Did you tell him you were going to Mesa to visit friends?  No, I told him Utah.

Why didn’t you just go and buy the gas cans?  They weren’t in my budget.

So, if Mr. Brewer had 6 cans, you would have taken them?  No, I didn’t have the room in the car.

Jodi now says there were no floor mats in the car!  Can you say, liar, liar, pants on fire!

After, you drove to Salinas?  Yes.

You did several things in Salinas?  A few things.

During testimony you told us about 2 gas cans?  Yes.

You bought another gas can in Salinas?  Yes, but I returned it.

So what is it, that you purchased 10 gallons and then purchased another 2.77 gallons?  Yea.

Martinez proves she filled the car and the gas cans!  The car was paid for with debit card, the cans were paid for by cash!

Martinez has this nailed down!

At the same gas station, she purchased between $80 to $84 of gas.

Can I have an Amen for premeditation???

JM just PopRocked her gas purchases, lol!

Jodi says Walmart didn’t give her a receipt for returning the gas can.

Martinez has totally wiped up the floor with her on the gas purchases!

Mr.Martinez is an absolutely a ferret in researching and piecing the evidence together!

You called both Mr. Burns and Mr. McCartney, but never told them you were headed to Mesa?  No.

You called Det. Flores and offered to help so you wouldn’t be under suspicion?  Yes.

You knew before you made the call it would be taped?  An attorney told me that.

Before the call?  Yes.

Did you make a statement about a gun?  Yes.

Did Det. Flores come looking for you?  No.

How did Jodi mention the gun to Flores before she knew Travis was dead???? OMG!

Jodi says to Flores that, ‘no Travis didn’t have any guns.”

So you say whatever makes your story look better?  No.

Entire defense team looks like they want to run out of court, screaming!

OMG!  Jodi says she knew Travis was the owner of a gun in 2007.  The gun used in the shooting.

Jodi claims the ammo was in the gun.

Travis told her it was not loaded!

Your grandfather had guns, right?  Yes.

He had a small one too?  I don’t know.

There was a burglary of a gun at your grand parents?  Yes.

Your laptop was not stolen?  Yes, I had it with me.

Didn’t you say it was hidden in the clothes basket under laundry?  No, I had it with me.

Jodi now says she AND her sister were at the grandparents house when police were there!

These lies are so outta control now, I’m helping digging the grave!

Claims she never saw grandpa’s .25 caliber, but he told her it looked like a toy gun.

But, but, but…she had already seen Travis’ .25 caliber in 2007????

You had a purse with you?  I don’t remember.

Now we’re at Starbucks and those hooligan’s turning her plate upside down!

Nurmi has his magic underwear on today!  It doesn’t fit any better than his suits!

Mercifully afternoon recess called!

Court back at 3:26.

When you at Starbucks, had you already called Mr. Travis?  I think so.

You told him you were coming to Mesa?  Yes.

Travis knew a week before she left and laid a guilt trip on her to come to Mesa.

On the road he called her several more times to guilt her!

Just have to say…Jodi is the type of woman that cops swept off the street corners of 42 Street several years ago!

Juan doing less ‘badgering’, but keeps hitting the same questions over-and-over to get her to finally answer truthfully.

You and Travis had breakfast? I had a banana and Travis had oatmeal.

You told Dr. Samuels the rope that was used for sex was 20 feet?  About 20 feet.

You engaged in sexual activity, but you could escape?  Yes.

Where was the portion of rope you did not use?  I don’t know.

You are saying he cut it up in the bathroom?  Yes.

The purpose of this rope is decorative to fulfill this fantasy?  Yes.

I have never felt as so wanting a shower as after testiphony.

Martinez now proves from photos that Arias and Alexander were not doing anything other than being intimate, not bondage.

She than started taking pics of Travis during sexual activities with her.  2 of Travis and 4 of her with KY.  No rope in the pictures!!!

OMG, she is so burnt toast! Ding dong the witch is dead…oh ho, ho, the witch is dead!

Arias is so contradicting herself all over the place this afternoon and I’m loving it!  She can’t refute diddley-squat today!

I am in awe with Martinez’s cross today…she is dead meat IMHO!

Judge wants to start at 10:15 again tomorrow..court called.

Martinez wants to introduce an exhibit that he missed yesterday and Nurmi says ok!

15 minutes early again tomorrow, folks!!!

I agree! I thought Martinez hit it out of the park today. He exposed so much. I mean at the end she finally gave up and just said “I don’t know” re: when she took her stuff out to the car even though she had said in direct it occurred before 5:30. ( I might have the times wrong. ) Martinez has pretty much dismantled the defense’s case that she was abused. Jodi even said “Always!” when JM asked her if the sex was consensual. Um, excuse me but didn’t Nurmi pretty much assert in her direct that on the day he died Travis bent her over a desk it table and basically forced himself on her? Wasn’t that pretty much the implication? Nice going Nurmi! Your own client refutes your defense claims. I may have imagined it but I thought Nurmi had a slightly incredulous/quizzical look on his face. And yes, I saw her face light up during the sexting testimony. I thought it was very odd. Her scrambled brain works in mysterious ways!

Oh and all this criticism about Juan Martinez being too agressive with her, I disagree. I think he is highly effective and if he has to rattle her a little, so be it. I mean is he supposed to treat her with kid gloves out of fear that he’ll be equated with a batterer? Why should he have to cowtow to her fake defense? His style is his style and in the immortal words of Britney Spears, She’s not that innocent!

An amusing observation this morning……when Arias went off splitting hairs instead of answering one of Juan’s questions, I SAW Nurmi get frustrated and throw his hand up in the air and slap it down on his chair. Even her attorneys are sick of this crap!!!!

    02/27/2013 at 7:43 pm

My observations after 4 days of Martinez drilling Arias, are these:

    1. A person who legitimately killed in self-defense would humbly tell their story and throw themselves upon the mercy of the Court pleading for their freedom and/or for their life to be spared.

    2. An innocent person would be humble and respectful to ALL members of the Court – including the prosecutor.

    3. An innocent person would answer the questions honestly and completely. She would not split hairs, argue, dance around the questions, etc.

    4. An innocent person would not smirk, smile, laugh, etc. while they were sitting in front of the family of the person they butchered because she would feel remorse and sorrow for the death and what the family has and is suffering. She would recognize the gravity of the situation.

    5. It would take less than a day to cross-examine a person who is telling the truth. The story would add up and there would be no need to show the endless holes and inconsistencies in the story.

    6. There would be legitimate tears and emotion from an innocent defendent over the horror of what they were forced to do to defend themselves. Not, this flippant, sarcastic, haughty, superior attitude.

On a side note, to all the talking heads on HLN who keep saying Martinez is doing a poor job, or who believe she is coming off as a victim, etc……please remember these are the same people who swore up and down she would never get up on the witness stand in the first place. Clearly they do not know everything.

Donchais,TY for the details and commentary. I can’t watch, just listen and you fill in a lot of gaps. I am so relieved to hear JA’s tone actually changing, esp about the rope. I mean, who would take it with her?! And the camera in the hot car? Brilliant! Again, thanks…

Donchais – awesome job! Your commentary is a terrific way to finish off the day >-)

I agree with everything you said but don’t bring out the champagne yet – at least wait until we get through the rest of JM’s cross. LOL I know I’ll sleep so much better tonight after that awesome performance by our skilled prosecutor, It’s like he is able to anticipate every single thing JA is going to argue/disagree with and just happens to have the applicable exhibit on hand. He’s certainly living up to his rep!

Lisa M I loooove the Britney reference lol! I completely agree – burnt like toast. JM did a magnificent job. His calmer demeanor gave Jodi no way to claim her brain is scrambled. He was clear and concise in his questioning. He extracted the real truth be that it has to be bit by bit. I believe the jury will put the pieces together. I read up a bit on sociopaths today. If she isn’t one then the rain isn’t wet. Her confidence came across as smug and slimy. Was she fondly reminiscing her sex with Travis????? Gross. Has the defense all but given up? Wurmi was a little too quiet today. Its my understanding that sociopaths do not accept defeat. Maybe JA is planning on an appeal based on ineffective counsel after her conviction? After all, she did object to that compound question lol! That made her sound like a jackass- not educated!

I watch the trial on the computer because I am sick of the commercials and the defense attorneys blabbing nonsense.

Martinez knows exactly what he is doing.

He has systematically dismantled the entire defense.

1-No corroborating evidence of any of the claims of pedophilia and battering. Text messages, phone records and her journal show they couldn’t have happened.
2-Phone sex tape, text messages and her own testimony showed she enjoyed the sex, initiated most of it and taught him sex tricks.
3-Recording of her call to Flores June 10, 2008 the day after Travis was found dead saying Travis did not have a gun shoots a hole right through her story that she got the gun from Travis closet and it just happens to be a 45 mm gun identical to the gun stolen in a burglary at her grandparents house a week before Travis was killed.
4-She rented a car 90 miles from Yreka so no one would recognize her.
5- She turned down a red car because she didn’t want the cops to stop her in Arizona.
6- She borrowed the gas cans so there would be no record of her getting gas in Arizona.
7- The pictures and the sleigh bed show her story of Travis bringing the knife upstairs to cut rope to bind her hands is BS.

I can’t wait to see how he makes mincemeat of her ridiculous story of a naked man chasing her and tackling her and yelling “f..ing kill you bitch” AFTER being shot in the head and her convenient “blackout.” If it wasn’t so tragic, it would be hilarious the way she remembers every minute detail of her life before and after but can’t remember slashing to death the love of her life 27 times, stabbing him in the heart, and slashing his throat.

WOW!!! What a day…what a day!! JM is zeroing in on her!! We all just kept saying “Bam!” every time he made a hit! Boy sitting here watching her try to figure out where JM was headed with his question was great! When he would ask her a question she would have this look on her face like she was thinking to herself, “hmmmm….how should I answer…does he know something I don’t??” Boy she made jackasses out of her attorneys…..they were sitting there like they crapped their underwear. She totally contradicted everything they had her testify too! And then that 3rd gas can…!! Who knew about that?! “Bam”! Take that!! Wow….we just have to ask….with all the hits JM made today and all the evidence he was entering, didn’t her attorneys bring themselves up to speed with what was on file??? Didn’t they KNOW this would all be brought up!? They tried to nip the Prosecution in the bud by asking questions of her that they anticipated JM would ask, but what about all this other stuff that has now been uncovered!? Boy…..talk about having your chonies pulled and hung out to dry by your client!!

Then came the shower question!! We could tell where JM was going with this question. When asked question, “did you take a shower?” She answered “yes”, but then he made some other comments, and came back with “so you took a shower…yes?” And again she said yes….but very quickly JM followed with, “is that the shower you dragged his body to after you killed him?” Her answer….”yes”….”BAM”!! We thought she couldn’t remember that part of the killing!!?? She previously stated the last thing she remembered was that she shot him and then she was driving out in the desert!! JM moved on quickly because he’s going to come back to this statement when he gets to the murder itself. Nice strategy!! Let her hang herself with her own words……maybe use that 20′ rope she says they used!!

The rope was another area that hit home. Rope….what rope? It wasn’t in any of their pictures or in the video. You would think if there was such a huge rope in the room it would be seen in some snapshot. When JM asked her about it and where was it because if it was taut behind the headboard it would have fallen behind the bed after it was cut. All she could say was, “no….it wasn’t behind the bed….I don’t think”…..!

We agree with Commerce1…..if she were innocent all the way, she would not be acting like a fool on the stand. She’d be up there telling her story straight out and truthfully to bring all this to an end in hopes of saving her own life!!

She’s a freakin’ Psycho…..someone said yesterday she acts like she’s on some kind of game show. Well today she was smiling away as the evidence was paraded in front of her! She is truly evil….we’re just waiting to see when her head starts to go round and round!

Keep it up JM…..and don’t play her games….just keep her guessing….she can’t stand not knowing where you’re headed with your questions!!

We ol’ gals were on point today!!

  11. 02/27/2013 at 10:04 pm

We have either seen or heard about every element of the sexual act(s), photos of the most detailed aspects and info-mercials for the best lubricant… as for splitting hairs… I don’t even want to go there. Hopefully we will not have to endure a re-cross of the same length. Sigh.

This is awesome!! I have the livestream on at work (my boss knows), but I mainly just listen. Believe it or not, it’s my “white noise” and actually helps me focus and work better.

This lyin’ heffa was thinking she was soooooo clever today, until BAM! POW! KA-PLAT!! Juan knocked her lights out (aka: her mountain of bullcarp). It was a thing of beauty, but donchais……your recaps are sooo much better. The testiphony along with the comic relief.

Brilliant!! I know you said you’re East Coast (me too), and I hope you’re nowhere near all the snowwwww!!

I agree he was awesome. He has started to cover the day Travis was killed and she is starting to look more and more uncomfortable! I really think for the most part even Squrmi looked bored today with her continuous attempts to deflect from the questions asked of her. He nailed her with the petrol receipts to the point where she even admitted there was 2 gallons “floating” around and he nailed her with the rope which mysteriously does not appear in any photo’s taken directly after it was used. A real pleasure to watch a proffesional in action. I think he has his direct absolutely spot on. He is assertive with her but he is not losing it with her. I really enjoyed watching him at work.

When did Jodi Arias decide that she was an abused woman or was going to use the battered women’s syndrome defense? It is known that she had been discussing the abuse her sister had been going through while living in Yreka. At that time, her sister was running from an abusive relationship, and was hiding from her boyfriend. Her younger sister must have confided much to an older sister she trusted. Jodi Arias learned a lot from her sister about an abusive relationship, wherein her sister would be defined to be suffering as a battered woman. Gaining that knowledge from her sister, Jodi Arias could have decided to use that description for herself. The reason for that is because she could not have used her own relationship, since Travis Alexander, the man she told everyone was her boyfriend (albeit in a somewhat open relationship) had never abused her. Although she was not frail and was indeed muscular, she would portray herself as a woman who could have been in fear of a former boyfriend [when she drove to a visit at his home in another State, where she, alone, said she was welcome].

Jodi Arias was no shrinking violet, and her attitude and body shape also were not that which would match a cowering, weak female. One could look at the photos of Jodi Arias, taken June 4, 2008, and see [the weight of] her heavy thighs and a muscular type build. In a May 10, 2008 made-up sex-tape, she told Mr. Alexander that she had been exercising. She spoke about her routine right before he admitted to her that she had taught him about the sexual lubricant they used, KY. The next part of that conversation started when she was explaining to him that she did not break a sweat often, after relating it to sexual activity [when he had just finished cleaning himself up from his own self-gratification]. She told him that she had been running twice a week to get her heart rate strong since she had moved to Northern California. Then again, she related that when she ran, she did not break a sweat, that she ran further every time, and that she would push herself to a point where it hurt. She described the changes she went through when running so hard. She would be breathing hard. Her tongue would hurt and she would have to spit — due to the fact that she couldn’t even swallow because it really hurt.

That was rather odd that she would push herself so hard to the point of such extreme pain. It sounded as though she was punishing herself more than she should. Her regimen was brutal. If she couldn’t swallow because her tongue hurt so much, she would have to spit while in pain. It seems this type of spitting by Jodi Arias has been transposed to an infliction belonging to Mr. Alexander. She has talked about two certain instances when Mr. Alexander was speaking to her, and spat on her while speaking. The first time she described such an incident was when he supposedly abused her, and the second incident was when he lunged at her on the date of his death. Both would be related to painful episodes. In addition, the spittle was said to have been brought about from a fit of anger or rage. However, not one person has spoken of spit spraying from the mouth of Mr. Alexander besides Jodi Arias. And, other than the story told on Mr. Alexander, Jodi Arias has only related spittle coming from her — when she had pushed herself until it hurt.

Another episode was discussed by Mr. Alexander and Jodi Arias on this so-called sex-tape. This was a trip down memory lane. This part of the conversation was right after they finished talking about the quality of KY (as compared to baby oil [that testimony in the Court revealed had been used by Jodi Arias for anal sex after she had moved out of her family home when she was seventeen and into the home of an older boyfriend — that particular boyfriend eventually living through the same type of stalking as Mr. Alexander]). She asked Mr. Alexander if he remembered the first time they grinded — and, she alluded this first sexual episode had occurred at Ehrenberg [Arizona].

The way she described it was that she was getting ready to come and he was coming, and she looked over and there was jizzz all over. It was so hot. They came together, and it was so cool. His entire response to that recollection was “Good old Ehrenberg”. She then asked him if he thought about that when he drove through there. He replied that he did, always, to which she said, “So, do I”. However, then with a little bit of astonishment in his voice, he told her that the last time he drove through he didn’t notice it. He had realized that he just hadn’t noticed the place that she had gone to great lengths to detail (which she always remembered when in or around that town). He tried to figure out how he had not noticed. Then she said that she had done that once or twice — missed [or did not notice] the Flying J, the signature landmark. Then, he said something about it being a Hellhole. She said it was not that bad because they had each other’s company. At that, he agreed that that was a lot of fun. She was right — if they got bored, they had each other (back then).

Next, she spoke about her memories of that time. They watched Deal or No Deal. They burned CDs. He told her some cool things about the Book of Mormon. He reminded her that they watched some stupid movie. When she asked if he remembered the movie, he replied they had watched Man of the Year. She liked the movie but did not like the whole drug thing. Nevertheless, she thought the girl in the movie played a good crack addict. The reason that she liked the movie was because Robin Williams was in it and he was one of her favorite actors. Her memory of that particular event was most sentimental and rather comprehensive. She was wrapped up on that particular time and had been especially thrilled when speaking of the grinding they had done together, which memory was celebrated by her as belonging to them and them alone.

In that same professed sex-tape, Jodi Arias and Mr. Alexander had been singing and making jokes, around the end when they started to talk about the chanteuse Alanis Morissette. Mr. Alexander told her about an actor who had dated the songbird, whereupon Jodi Arias tried to pretend she understood what he had just said. He had talked about Dave Coulier and said he had acted as Joey on Full House, when Jodi Arias seemed to not be aware of who he was. She tried to disguise the fact that she still did not know the show and could not place the actor by making it appear she thought he was the white boy. He admitted to his confusion at her response since all of the actors were white. She only admitted to her lack of knowledge once her blunder was out there. It was such a little thing, but she did not want to say she did not know.

It appears that Jodi Arias does not have the ability to admit she does not know what she is talking about (or is wrong). She seems to be a know-it-all, but she does not know everything she pretends to. Maybe in a crowd or some situations she can get away with the pretense, but when in a Court situation, this part of her behavior is easily seen (throughout the transcripts of her Trial testimony). She also tends to agree with a person when she is not in agreement or does not want to appear a certain way. One example is that of noticing Ehrenberg. In that stroll down memory lane, Mr. Alexander had told her that he did not notice the place when he last drove through. Her response, after telling him she always thought of their relationship together when going through Ehrenberg, was instantly changed to that of she had not thought of their relationship when in Ehrenberg, not just one time, but up to two times. This could have been a grave mistake for Mr. Alexander — not realizing that Jodi Arias might have minimized that remembrance but had retained what she believed he had done to it.

Jodi Arias possesses the wherewithal to change on a dime. She could not describe the .25 caliber that belonged to her grandfather in 2008 (and would be stolen a couple of weeks later in May after the sex-tape was recorded), yet this is the same type of gun that was supposedly kept by Mr. Alexander. She has stated she found a gun in Mr. Alexander’s closet when she first moved to Mesa, Arizona in August of 2007. She had no money and Mr. Alexander offered to pay her in return for housecleaning. She said that after she found the gun on the upper shelf of his closet (while cleaning), Mr. Alexander acknowledged owning that particular gun, but he told her it was unloaded. So, even though she knew his gun was unloaded and was supposedly unfamiliar with that type of gun (since she said she had never touched the .25 caliber owned by her grandfather), she was able to shoot the .25 caliber allegedly belonging to Mr. Alexander. This was with no knowledge of whether to look for the safety or how to shoot a gun. And, her story supposes the gun would have mysteriously been loaded (even though she knew it to be unloaded) by the time she reached for it. This is what she wanted everyone to believe.

In the late afternoon of the sixth day of the Trial, the recording of the July 15, 2008 interview was shown. In that video recording, Jodi Arias can be seen detailing the route she had taken while her phone was shut off when she was crossing the Arizona border. Detective Esteban Flores asked her how she was trying to find her way, and she unintentionally told him she had looked at the MapQuest. MapQuest is an American free online web mapping service owned by America Online, Inc. MapQuest Mobile is a service providing maps and driving directions to any Web-enabled mobile phone or personal digital assistant. MapQuest Find Me became available on Sprint in 2005 and Boost Mobile in 2006. All of these details about MapQuest show that she would have had to have had the use of her cell phone to access MapQuest. However, at that time, her phone had been turned off. If that were really the case, whose cell phone was in use for Jodi Arias to access MapQuest?

In the afternoon of the seventh day, another interview was shown. That was the one of July 16, 2008, and the snippet that contained the Miranda warning was shown. Jodi Arias tried to explain that the trip that Mr. Alexander was supposed to make to Yreka was postponed in the last week of May. He told her he would get to Yreka after his trip to Cancun — that is, if it worked out with his friends in the north. She was not sure if that trip would occur. The Detective then quizzed her on whether her trip to see Mr. Alexander was planned and if he knew she was going to see him. After all, the Detective already had pulled her cell phone records and knew her phone was turned off during most of the time she was traveling through Arizona. However, Jodi Arias told the Detective that she and Mr. Alexander talked briefly on her route to Phoenix because her phone needed a charge which she said “THAT IS REALLY TRUE”. So, in that interview Jodi Arias said the strangest thing, which was that she had spoken to Travis Alexander (presumably about her visit) on the way to Phoenix — when her phone would have been shut off.

It appears Jodi Arias planned to kill Travis Alexander. She got in shape (by intently exercising) to travel to Mesa to do to him what she felt he deserved. He had already started to stay away from this evil, conniving woman, by changing plans to visit that neck of the woods. For trying to find a life without her, she murdered him — brutally. The prosecutor has proven this. The prosecutor has also proven premeditation. In addition, he has put down the groundwork to attack the defense team’s presentation of dating violence in regards to the battered women’s defense. He knows that the experts on the domestic violence issue hired by the criminal lawyers will be the same as the criminal lawyers’ so-called forensics experts. In the case of the State of Florida versus Case Anthony, the Assistant State Attorney lost the Jury when he showed disrespect for the defense team’s experts (and smirked at defense counsel). The Arizona prosecutor, Juan Martinez, seems much more respectful, and, even though he will be able to show the defense team is wrong, he won’t be disrespectful while doing it. He will act in the same fashion he has. He won’t lose the Jury, and he will achieve that which he and his team must.

I think it is brilliant the way Martinez said Travis wasn’t special to Jodi and then whipped out the text message that shows she called Travis Alexander and Ryan Burns both Hottie Biscotti. I thought it was also brilliant when he got her to admit that her relationship with Travis was sexual. Jodi saying that she believed Travis was having sex with other women only proves motive and premeditation.

Since listening to the testimony yesterday, I have changed my mind about Jodi’s motive for killing Travis.. I thought Jodi was obsessed with Travis and wanted him to marry her and when he refused planned to kill him and Ryan was just the alibi.

Now I believe Jodi was only interested in sex and she thought Travis was an easy mark because he was a 28 year old virgin and she could steal his virginity and teach him to be a good lover and it worked until she suspected he was having sex with other women. She kept using the phone sex to keep him from seeing anyone else. When it didn’t work, she went trolling for his replacement.

I believe now Jodi decided to kill Travis when she met Ryan Burns, another virgin Mormon man whom she was convinced she could seduce and turn him into another “freaky” sexual partner. She was convinced Travis had replaced her and was having sex with the women he dated. She was moving on but first she had to kill Travis because she believed he was having sex with the new girlfriend he was taking to Cancun. She had to punish and stop him. As soon as she got rid of Travis, she gave him no other thought and moved on attempting to seduce Ryan.

Jodi wasn’t worried about getting caught because she had cleaned up the crime scene so well that his roommates didn’t even realize his dead body was decomposing upstairs for five days and she thought she could talk her way out of anything. Travis’s friends only decided to go into his room when they were worried because they hadn’t heard from him for five days and he was supposed to go to Cancun the next day.

Jodi may have gotten away with murder if she had taken his camera and wiped her bloody fingerprint off the wall.

I think Jodi planned on shooting Travis in the back of the head but she wasn’t sure if anyone else was in the house and she had to contain Napoleon so he wouldn’t defend Travis. She convinced Travis to put up the doggy gate at the foot of the stairs keeping the dog downstairs wile she lured Travis upstairs on the pretense of a photo shoot in the shower where he would be defenseless and trapped. I also think she used the knife so she could act out her rage and make him suffer like she did when she imagined him having sex with another woman. She knew he was dead in that picture where she is standing over him with his throat slashed, She only shot him in the head to make it look like two people, one with a knife and one with a gun shot him. Thus the Ninja story where a masked couple burst in to kill Travis and argue over what to do with her.

It’s obvious that JM is wearing her down. She’s still trying to lie her way out and counting on her defense team to clear up the mess she has been making. I’m looking forward to JM’s cross today and, unless she gets another migraine, he will leave off at the high point yet again.

I don’t want Martinez to end his cross exam without asking a few pointed questions, including:

    1. Since you killed Mr. Alexander, have you read anything about abused or battered women syndrome? [Years of studying in jail]

    2. Are you familiar with the definition of the psychological term “sociopathy”? “Narcissistic personality disorder”? “Borderline personality disorder”? “Histrionic personality disorder”? “Pathological liar”? [Let her wonder what experts JM will call in redirect after Nurmi puts up his so-called psychological experts]

    3. Don’t you have a pattern of a slight overlap in time when you are with one boyfriend (even living together), then meet another, and quickly move on to another man within a short time span? Was Ryan Burns next in line after Travis? [And lucky to be alive]

    4. Do you have any direct knowledge of Travis having had any sexual activity before he met you? If so, with whom/when/what happened? [If not, then she was the experienced partner who introduced every single sex act and fantasy to him.]

    5. Although we have corroboration from Travis on the phone sex call and text messages that he was involved in a consensual sexual relationship with you, do you have evidence or corroboration of any unwelcome sexual activity from him on the day of your baptism, the days you allege physical abuse, or the day you killed Travis? [NONE}

    6. On the phone sex tape you mentioned how hard it would be for Travis to find a freaky Mormon girl to marry. Did you think that if you introduced him to an exotic sex life that he couldn’t get from the other Mormon girls he was dating, that he would marry you? How did it make you feel when you saw that plan didn’t work? [29 stabs/slit throat/shot to the head]

Jodi’s mother is as big a piece of trash as her daughter to sit there in the courtroom day after day and support Jodi in brutually murdering her ex boyfriend, destroying his reputation and putting his family through hell on earth while getting off on talking about her sexual exploits and playing the victim.

How could she sit there and listen to her daughter blame her and her father as well as Travis for her stabbing him 29 times, slitting his throat and shooting him in the head? The wooden spoon and belt spankings are probably a fabrication also since she lies when it benefits her. Jodi’s mother and father are obviously not defense witnesses or they couldn’t have been in the courtroom. So there will be nobody to corroberate the child abuse claim either.

Mrs. Arias knows millions of people are watching her as she sits there with the same smug superior look as her daughter. She knows her daughter is a pathological lying sociopath but she chooses to believe Travis made her daughter kill him. She should hang her head in shame and hide.

Which of the two twin sisters in court is Jodi’s mother? Is it the one with earphones in her ears or the other one? They both seem to have non-expressive faces like Jodi and they shared a chuckle when Jodi mocked Martinez and laughed after she commented on his tone. Which I thought was extremely disrespectful. I think if my daughter/niece was on trial literally for her life and did something stupid like that Id be extremely angry at her for being an idiot and jeopardizing the jury’s opinion of her. I would not be laughing I can tell you that. The only time I noticed any expression of dismay or concern was when the 48 Hours interview played. I do wonder if the one with the earphones in ( I think she’s Jodi’s mother but I’m not sure) is using an iPod and turns it on during the phone sex recordings. The other thing I wanted to say is that I think JM will take the whole day today (at least) to wrap up his cross examination. Heck if that were me I would sit there meekly answer “yes” or “no” and be crying my eyes out — but then again I would never do what she did to Travis to any animal let alone a human. I noticed that too. What he should have focused on was that she had to convince him to take pictures in the shower. She said he originally said no. Martinez just pointed out how bogus her story is about Travis attacking her. The third version is as pathetic as the second version of how she fought with the ninjas and escaped unscathed.

She started boo hooing when she saw the picture of Travis with his throat slashed because she is embarrassed that the whole world knows that is her handiwork.

If she dropped the camera near the shower, it couldn’t take a picture a minute and a half later of Travis at the end of the hallway lying at her feet with his throat slashed from ear to ear.

It was the other way around. Jodi attacked Travis with the knife and it knocked him to his knees and he crawled down the hallway to get away from her and she kept stabbing him 29 times in the back and chest and then slashed his throat. The camera had to be around her neck while she was stabbing him and went off when she was slitting his throat. She shot him in the head after the picture was taken of his slashed throat. I think Martinez is going to establish that Travis was stabbed in front of the closet door.

Life or death is on the line baby, not whether or not she goes to prison. We already know she will be there for quite some time, if not die there. What is wrong with these supposed lawyers working on this show? Quit thinking like a lawyer who knows the law in detail and start thinking like a juror.

Okay, off my soapbox for now. 🙂

She has lost weight since this happened. She was working out at that time. Take a look at the 48 hour pics and how much weight she has lost. It is a defensive ploy to make her look small and feeble, which she is not. Why would she put him in the shower anyway and then wash off his body? You are correct she does talk about a previous time because she says he used it on his myspace profile….however as he quite rightly point out, she had previously said she stopped him during oral sex because he hadn’t shaved and clearly in the last pics taken of him in the shower he had shaved. I think the point he was making, is that she had to persuade him to have the pics done because she clearly said he complained he looked “gay” when he was in the shower…so I think he got the point across…

What a hell of a time to call lunch…good timing judge…..JM could have continued hammering at here with possible scenarios at which time she would crack (we all know how she likes to tell her own stories) and finally come out with the truth. B ut then again she also knows if she tells what really happened in that room will definitely put the needle to her. We’re sure JM with come back after lunch and continue where he left off. In my opinion her intent wasn’t just to kill Travis – because “Holly” is right. She could have slipped in, killed him, and slipped out undetected very easily. She could have avoided all the mess by simply shooting him while he slept and bailing.

However, she is a sociopath. This murder was about punishing him for rejecting her. I believe Travis signed his death warrant the moment he published his last entry on his blog entitled “Why I Want to Marry a Gold Digger.” He made it clear what type of woman he wanted to marry and it was most definitely NOT Jodi.

She needed him to know he was about to be killed and that it was her doing the killing. I believe she had him cornered with the gun in the shower in that last live photo of him. The look on his face is nothing like any other photo we have seen of him. He looks sad and resigned.

    It’s truly heartbreaking.

katz63md :Watching streaming after jury left, JA is broken! This is not acting now, this is real life baby. Can we all say ‘screwed’!

Oh, I agree 1000%. We have to remember she can see the faces of the jury members – we cannot! They must have been staring at her with disbelief and disgust.

I loved when she grabbed a sheet of paper out of her folder and started writing what appeared to be a novel. I found myself hoping it was a suicide note.

I just listened to the third day of Jodi’s trial where the medical examiner testified. He stated that the gun shot to travis’ head would have incapacitated him rendering him unable to defend himself therefore most likely one of the last wounds inflicted on him. During her direct examination she stated that the gun had gone off accidentally which had made him so mad that he went after her saying he was going to f***ing kill you b****. If I am correct with this why doesn’t the prosecutor point this inconsistency out? Am I wrong in what she said?

Hey Bethany, my husband is a psychiatrist and we were discussing this at dinner the other night. He said sociopaths and narcissists don’t typically commit suicide because they value themselves too highly. When Jodi “nicked” herself and it “stung”, that’s all it took for her to back down from any self-injury.

    GN5020,
Thank you for your response. Since I have not read or heard anything about a definitive diagnosis of sociopathy or any other type of personality disorder I was just a little curious if that was a possibility. However, I do believe that she is a total narcissist and strongly believe that she shows signs of narcissistic personality disorder due to her immediate attachment to the boyfriends from her past including Travis.

Pam: Why would she put him in the shower anyway and then wash off his body?

Right before this event Jodi and Travis had had sex. I think the reason she put his body in the shower and washed it was to get rid of any DNA she would have left behind as she was trying to cover her tracks during that time.

Oh, that makes sense. What bothers me so much about her is that she thinks she is so smart and fooling everyone. Just hoping the jury sees it. Thanks for your reply.
