Jodi Arias Murder Trial – Day Fifty-Five

05/01/2013

After a long break, we are back to work and it will be a long and final day of testiphony!

Wow, full house today…Arias aunt back in town, grandma still here.  Deanna Reid sitting with Travis’ sibs, all of whom are here today!

Court opens at 9:16…Willmott asks to approach.

Screen shot 2013-05-01 at 4.33.39 PMDr. Robert Geffner, neuropsychologist is called.  Has been in practice for 33 years.  Willmott takes him through his background and credentials.

Gawd, this has passed the 1/2-hour mark!

Finally at 9:50 we begin actual testiphony.

He reviewed the tests given to Jodi and rescored them.  Screen shot 2013-05-01 at 12.28.17 PM

He never spoke to Arias and didn’t review any police statements.

He’s babbling on about his background again and boy, is he full of himself!

He discusses validity scales, which allows them to tell if a person is defensive or lying on the tests.

3 different mental health providers administered the tests over a 2-year period.  He claims his review showed Jodi didn’t lie, but did present emotional issues.

Claims Dr. DeMarte’s test also showed Jodi had issues.  The scoring on that test showed multiple areas above the norm.  Anger and antisocial behavior is in the normal range.  Dominant is below normal, not hostile.  Jodi shows passive personality and low self-esteem.

The tests don’t provide diagnosis, but point to areas that should be looked into.

Pretty much, he is trying to shore-up the diagnosis of PTSD.

MCMI test would be the tool to use to assess Borderline Personality Disorder.

Judge calls recess…

I’m not getting this direct at all.  Dr. DeMarte did testing and a clinical interview to reach her diagnosis.  This guy can’t diagnose her without doing a clinical interview.

Court back at 11:46…

Back to the MCMI.  It looks at personality disorders.

Scores indicate anxiety or PTSD.

This has to be the worst direct exam I’ve ever seen.  I’m sure the jury is so lost they don’t know why this guy is even here!

Now we’ve moved to Trauma Symptom Inventory.  He works with trauma victims, abused children, battered woman.

Have we made a point yet?

Dr. DeMarte indicated there are no summary scales?  There are summary scales.

DeMarte was trained not to use the summary scales!

Says DeMarte used an outdated test, the TSI-1.  TSI-2 had come out early 2011.

7 out 10 scores were in the clinical range for some sort of trauma.

Anxiety, dissociation, defensive avoidance of the trauma, sexuality issues…

Dr. Karp gave the first test in 2010 (she got ill and couldn’t continue on the case).  A year and a half later showed improvement in some areas, but higher anxiety in others.

This is so not saying anything about premeditated murder!

This is just awful; one minute he is bolstering Samules, the next DeMarte.  This isn’t proving diddly.

Now says Jodi meets the criteria for PTSD!  Reached the conclusion without interviewing her!

Dr. Geffner, do you Jodi Arias is an admitted liar?

Lunch recess called…abbreviated to 1-hour and 15 minutes…boy, did Willmott and Jodi look pissed about that!

Geffner talks about someone who is victimized in childhood has a much greater chance of being victimized later in life.

There go the parents under the bus again!

Court resumes at 1:30.

Some abbreviated lunchtime!

Jury in at 1:31.

Willmott asks Geffner what professional organizations he belongs to…geez.

He admits to knowing Alyce LaViolette and they each refer cases to each other.

Willmott brings up courts and appeals and his being sanctioned.

He’s been impeached in 4 or 5 cases.  He got slammed on those and his testiphony got tossed in some areas.

Willmott has him define neuropsych.  A bridge between psych and medicine.

He treated 3 patients with frontal lobe injuries, 2 gunshots and one nail gun.

OMG, now Willmott is trying to get him to impeach Dr. Horn on the bullet to the frontal lobe!

Guessing this is opening the door for Juan to bring in his neuropsych, Dr, Hayes.

Juan is going to be all over this guy!

OMG, he just said Horn’s report shows no apparent injury to the brain itself!

Say the gunshot to Travis’ frontal lobe wouldn’t have incapacitated him!

Reinforced foil hat on. Hip waders on.  Triple barf bags in hand!

Now said he didn’t diagnose Jodi as a battered woman or PTSD, because that wasn’t what he was tasked to do.

He believes Dr. DeMarte was capable of understanding the testing to form a diagnosis.  Now he says she didn’t understand how to use the TSI and the MCMI!

DeMarte read diaries, e-mails, texts, interviews, got the whole background.  Unlike him!

Juan on cross…

You told us your licensed in CA and TX?  Yes.

You are not licensed in AZ or HI?  Correct.

You testified in HI and TN?  Yes.

You testified in TN for the O’Rourke case?  Yes.

The judge said your testimony was completely without merit?  I don’t remember the words.

O’Rourke v O’Rourke is where he testified for the mom (who lost custody) but never interviewed Dad.

Juan shows him the judge’s opinion.

This is just Juanderful!  Juan is going to nail him on several cases where he was impeached!

Texas case, trial court found his affidavit that lacked credibility!  The court said you were making things up.

Hawaii case, court excluded part of his testimony.

In this case, you were contacted last week?  No, November of last year.  That issue was resolved?  Yes.

We spoke last week and you told me you were contacted a week ago about testifying here?

You reviewed the DeMarte documentation two weeks ago?  No.

Another hired gun going down the tubes!

The MMPI, you said Dr. DeMarte’s approach that you looked at, doesn’t indicate borderline personality?  Yes.

Juan is running rings around this guy.  Juan has all kinds of pent up energy and it ain’t from drinking Red Bull!!!

Juan just pounced on Jodi’s malingering on the answers to the test.  Geffner aggress it could be a possibility.

Ohhh, Juan got Geffner to admit Jodi has psychopathic traits on the test, lol!

Afternoon recess, be back at 3:10…

Geez, we can’t ever start on time!  Court resumes at 3:17.

Juan taking him through all the elevated areas on Jodi’s MMPI 1.

By her tone, you can tell the judge is getting annoyed by Willmott’s asking to approach!

Jodi may have malingered, but the DeMarte test shows BPD anyway.

Geffner admits that his rescoring of the tests was actually done by some of his students, not himself!

In question 28…

Objection…sidebar…

Lol, Juan almost got it in…. ques 28 from the test…not allowed to make that public!

You read the report Dr. Karp’s test?   Correct.

They were consistent with the test Dr. DeMarte’s profile?  No, two arrears were not reported as above clinical.

Willmott looking askeered!

You talked about the frontal lobe?  Yes sir.

How many autopsies have done?  That’s not my area of expertise.

Have you ever been at an autopsy?  Afterwards, not while it was being done.

You critiqued Dr. Horn’s report?  Yes.

The brain was decomposed, the consistency of tapioca?  Yes.

If there was no traumatic event and they filled it out, would you find that credible?  I wouldn’t give it if there was no event.

Smack down on Samuels filling out the test answers for Jodi!

Now back to the frontal lobe and photos taken during autopsy.

Can you tell us the trajectory of the bullet?  No.

Your opinion was based on a report?  That and my knowledge how the brain works.

Lol, Geffner says he would defer to the ME’s expertise!

No further questions.

10-minute recess called…

Willmott on redirect…just kill me now…

The O’Rourke case?  Yes.

The judge called you a hired gun?  Yes, he said that.

What happened in that case?  Child custody case with a battered woman and two children.  Based on the testing, they discovered the woman and kids were abused.  I criticized the way the expert’s opinion and…

Objection, sustained…may we approach?

Did people complain about the way the judge handled the case?  Yes.

What happened…

Objection…sidebar…

The affidavit in the Clark case?  Yes.

There was no question about your honesty in the statement?  No.  It was tossed because of the limitations he was facing.

Willmott is going over his testimony yet again.  The judge really needs to grow a set and stop this bs.

We are reviewing all the test results again.

This is pure torture, can’t imagine how pizzed off the jury must be!

Oh get over it…Jodi does not have PTSD!

Again refuting Dr. Horn’s autopsy report, but says he doesn’t believe his report is incorrect.

Juror questions…

Being incarcerated, public attention, facing the death penalty, etc…how does that influence the scoring on the MMPI?  You could see elevations in some areas.

How many questions were changed on TSI 2 from the ones on TS 1?  Around 6, but was significant.

Lack of hemorrhage in the brain, could that mean it happened after death?  Depends.

You said you are not receiving compensation for the case?  Is any organization receiving compensation?  His school does!

The good news is that the jury paid close attention today!

Can you manipulate any of the tests?  It could, but it would have to be consistent across the whole battery of tests.

Admits DeMarte’s report indicated borderline and he assumes she found a pattern of behaviors.

Had you heard of this case before evaluating the tests?  No.

One more question in the basket…

Dr. Horn arrived at the courthouse about an hour ago, per Beth Karas. Maybe Juan is going to put him back up as a sur- surrebuttal witness.

Do bullets travel in a straight line when it hits the body?  Yes, depending on what it hits makes a difference.

Still insists Jodi’s tests indicate PTSD.

Pretty zoned out…sigh, but Juan has gone postal, lol!

Did you know Dr. Samules said PD (NOS)…not otherwise specified…and it should be looked into?  No.

Convenient the defense didn’t tell him that little nugget!

Think Samuels, LaVioltte, and Geffner will be opening a car wash soon!

You said you didn’t know anything about this case?  I was first talked to about in November, but wasn’t told I would testify till about a week and a half ago.

He saw nothing about the case since November?  I say BS!

10-minute break…

Well, what have we learned that advanced the defense case today?  Not a damn thang!

Screen shot 2013-05-01 at 10.01.43 PMDr. Kevin Horn on the stand!

He identifies the photos of Travis’ skull that show the entry wound and where the bullet lodged.

The trajectory of the bullet didn’t show blood?  Yes.

What does that mean?  He had either bled out or was deceased.

The entire family and group of friends are looking down and crying.

The brain was decomposed and green-gray, the texture was like pudding.

Willmott up…

How long does blood stay in the brain when shot?  I don’t understand.

How long would the lack of blood take?  With his injuries, within seconds.

Willmott is trying to put words in his mouth again!

The brain was liquidized?  I never said that.

You took slices of the brain?  I could cut trough it to see if I’m missing fragments or foreign bodies.

You could not see a track?  No.

You don’t keep up with new articles that show research into projectiles into the front lobe?  I’m basing this on my experience.

With regard to your report, everything is correct, right?  Yes.

One juror question…

Would you agree that 100% of the time, you have seen people with a frontal lobe injury, they were deceased?  Yes.

Another question…

Your report said the brain membrane wasn’t damaged, how do you explain?  That is a typo in the report.

Martinez…Was the durra damaged?  Yes, based on the damage by the bullet it had to be.

Willmott, you just said your report was correct?  Yes.

But now you are saying it contains a mistake?  I just now saw the typo.

Dr. Jill Hayes called.  Forensic neuropsych.  Screen shot 2013-05-01 at 10.33.22 PM

Going through her CV.  Licensed in 1999.

She’s done pros and def cases, 50/50.

Discussing the TSI test and that she would give it if there was an indication of a trauma.

The PDS test would give her concern if the person lied.  It would call up other issues about the validity of the test.

Would you continue to test if you knew it was a lie?  Depends, if you only have one bite of the apple or a continuing evaluation.

Willmott not at all happy and just objected and slammed her legal pad down!

She now comments on the TSI that shows horror or anxiety over a supposed trauma happening to them.

The 7 months between TSI 1 and TSI 2 does that mean using TSI 1 even thought 2 was available is in error?  No, many clinicians wait to see if the new test is actually accepted as being valid.

Kinda like don’t but a new model car till the bugs are found and corrected!

She, like DeMarte didn’t use the scoring summary scales in her training!  It wasn’t a requirement by the organization that developed the test.

Bye-bye Dr. Geffner!

Says you can’t just look at tests results and make a diagnosis like Geffner did.  You need to interview and use collateral materials.

Willmott up…

Says DeMarte was correct on testing Jodi’s reading comprehension even though she had a 112 IQ, otherwise would have been crucified

on the stand.  Seen college grads who had low reading abilities.

Willmott just spinning wheels here and being a hiney-hole.

Hayes wiping-up the floor with Willmott’s reasoning!

How the heck is the jury going to be fresh enuff tomorrow for jury instructions?

There may be a beheading soon in the court!

Dr. Hayes is a gem…unshakable and totally cognizant of Willmotts bs!

Witness released and the State rests.

Court called at 8:30.

Be back at 9:15 for a 9:30 start!

Warts and all this is what ya get, ‘cause I’m tired!

Well something crazy happened! It was kind of funny because it was like traveling back in time! You never knew where something would show up …. but, it suddenly worked itself out. Yes, we had a whee of a day …. thanks again for keeping the sandbox nice and tidy. 😉

That is a comment for you, Donchais.

Than you so much donchais -loved the recap and the giggles you provide. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for enduring another day of Wingnut and Recliner guy.

    05/01/2013 at 11:51 pm

    Hi HJ,
Ty for the explanations u gave me. It makes sense to me now and now I understand why we definitely don’t want manslaughter.
But, what happens if they decide 2nd degree murder?

    • HJ Madison
      05/01/2013 at 11:56 pm

This weenie judge is going to give them manslaughter …. But … the thing we just have to hang on to is PREMEDITATION. And frankly, I have never seen so much circumstantial evidence– ever. To say nothing of her actions following the killing. So….. if they buy premeditation, then ALL this other stuff doesn’t matter. Even if they think she was “battered”, if she planned it it is OVER.

2nd degree is like 25 years plus with the possibilty of parole. And she gets to live in the general prison population.

      • Jill
        05/01/2013 at 11:59 pm

Wait, u found out for sure about the manslaughter?

      • Jill
        05/02/2013 at 12:01 am

What does premeditation automatically mean? The death sentence?
(Sorry if u already told me that answer)

      • HJ Madison
        05/02/2013 at 12:05 am

I did not hear … I am just assuming, given that the judge let the DT have it all anyway. If JA gets 1st degree (because the jury believed she planned this) then we enter the “aggravator” phase. Was the killing cruel? If the jury finds it was, then we go to the penalty phase, where they decide whether to recommend Death or Life without Parole.

      • Moon
        05/02/2013 at 12:12 am

NO, after today, I don’t the Judge will give them manslaughter as an option and Juan already turned them down b4 the trial started. The HO wanted to pleabargain that and said she would trash Travis if the State wouldn’t take the deal.

I am hoping and praying that after all this, the Judge will say no no to that charge!

      • HJ Madison
        05/02/2013 at 12:19 am

Moon: She tried to plea bargain for 2nd degree, not manslaughter. And I think the Judge “deferred” until all the evidence came in to see if it supports “self defense”, hemce manslaughter. Given that they have gotten everything else, I am sure she will give them this too.

      • HJ Madison
        05/02/2013 at 12:22 am

Oh wait …. manslaughter may be “heat of passion” instead of “self defense”…. now I will have to go look!

      • Moon
        05/02/2013 at 12:32 am

How in the Hell do they even have the audacity to ask for that? They cannot change to crime of passion after claiming self defense! None of the testilies from their side supports COP… and the Judge should certainly know that now that this phase is over…. their “new” request: crime of passion, does not fit the strategy they provided, imho.

      • HJ Madison
        05/02/2013 at 12:48 am

Moon: I agree …. She begged for 2nd degree back in July of 2011 and threatened to “reveal” all this filth about TA. I am still looking if 2nd degree covers self defense or if it is part of manslaughter. I do recall they were asking for the “heat of passion”. Some of this should be part of instructions …. and we never heard them argue about that either. The Minute Entries show that the jury insteuction motions were filed 4/21/2013 — no details.

      • NancyB
        05/02/2013 at 1:18 am

Oh, you are correct. She will give both the 2nd degree & manslaughter options.

    05/01/2013 at 11:53 pm

If Mr. Alexander was shot in the frot of the head leaving his brain cortex in tack ,, & supposedly hitting front of face , how could he possibly see to chase ms. Arias through a bathroom & into a closet & back out ? Anyone?rest in peace Travis,my prayers are with your family

    • HJ Madison
      05/02/2013 at 12:09 am

Good point! He would have had blood all over his face. And, he was wet frommthe shower too. Just one more reason to know she shot him after the killing.

    • NancyB
      05/02/2013 at 1:21 am

Hi Cookie, But Dr Horn has repeatedly stated that the bullet entered the Rt Frontal Lobe and that caused Travis to be immediately incapacitated – with i or 2 seconds and he would be unresponsive/unconscious. End of story, I totally believe Dr Horn’s testimmony.

    • Laine
      05/02/2013 at 8:21 am

Cookie, he chased her and she ran into the wardrobe and back out to the bathroom BEFORE she shot him…thats her testiphony, not the other way round. So there would not have been blood etc in his face till after the shot in the bathroom if she is to be believed…which I personally don’t! she shot him after the stabbing thats why there was no blood from the gunshot.

  5. 05/01/2013 at 11:54 pm

I’m exhausted and I’m just watching. Can only imagine everyone there. Wow this is one for the record. Since starting watching mid-Jodi testimony, I’ve gained weight, got nothing done and become a supporter of the Alexander family. I’m glad justice is coming soon.

    • Jill
      05/01/2013 at 11:58 pm

Lol…me too. I find myself mindlessly eating all day while watching, and my house and family r definitely neglected!
Very scared for the outcome…I am scared that there is one idiot jodi fan on the jury and he will ruin everything!

      • 05/02/2013 at 12:24 am

I’m glad I’m not the only one, kinda. That mindless eating is the pits.

    05/01/2013 at 11:59 pm

In order for that juror to ask Dr. Horn about the brain membrane not being damaged
they would have heard it from someone. Does anybody know who said that?

    • Jill
      05/02/2013 at 12:00 am

I know Wilma was talking about it when questioning him.

    • HJ Madison
      05/02/2013 at 12:07 am

Yes… Dr. Dolittle talked about it several times today and said that is why he believed the bullet did not enter the gray matter of the brain.

      • HJ Madison
        05/02/2013 at 12:13 am

That is also why Wilnot got so pissy with Dr. Horn and the “type-o” — gees that was not good. Glad we had that nice Dr. to finish with.

    • NancyB
      05/02/2013 at 1:27 am

Hi Marilyn! Yes, it was discussed between Dr Geffner & JW. They discussed the possibility that it was a typo in Dr Horn’s that the Dura Mater was intact and what Geffner proposed if it was a typo and they also discussed Geffner’s opinion if it wasn’t a typo. When I 1st heard that testimony I knew that Juan HAD to get Dr Horn to straighten it out and was soooo relieved when Donchais posted that he was there. I was shocked that JW had not brought it up and I was thrilled that one juror was so intelligent to clear that loose thread up.

      • 05/02/2013 at 1:42 am

I was glad to see the juror question, too. I can only think that JW must have suspected it was in error to not ask. Instead she went with the nonspecific “everything is correct, right?” question– she didn’t want it cleared up! Sure enough it was a typo. I am sooo glad that came out, but was also very disappointed that such a critical error wasn’t discovered until the very end of the trial. It was enough to add some doubt, I think. Though I hope the typo explanation is sufficient for they jury.

        05/02/2013 at 9:04 am

Thank you for explaining this, Nancy. My internet feed kept freezing through much of the day and I missed a lot. This part was never clear to me. Now I get it, and also understand why WAT said the reaction in the courtroom was not as bad as it was to those watching online.

    • 05/02/2013 at 7:07 am

Uh, Yah…It was the basis of Dr Geffner’s entire testimony that would allow a person to sustain the gunshot and not be incapacitated. Defense was being sneaky. They read the ME report and saw the typo. Didn’t you hear Geffner say several times that he assumed the ME report was accurate and did not question it? Wilmott’s last question to Horn was asking him to affirm his reports accuracy. It was their intention to leave all as is, then they could refer to it in closing arguments. But that meddling juror ruined everything by giving the prosecution a chance to acknowledge the typo and blow up the defense’s whole plan. Whoops! This juror is on the prosecution’s side. It’s all good.

wowza wowza wowza! WHAT AN ENDING TO TESTIMONY!!

LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS…………… OH MY!!!
(oh and GOPHERS)!! waaahoooo Juan put that juror in line with that one! I was one of the ones concerned about this juror ? well, not any more!! That is sooo why I am glad he ended with blonde doc instead of Horn! Much much better end this way! If Horn would have ended, the jury would have been stuck with the typo.. I wonder how long the Dreamy Doc keeps his personal notes, or if those are tossed when the report is typed up??? I bet you anything if he still has them, he is checking them now!! I bet he couldn’t believe he was called back, yet again! I thought he was gonna say ……….. I’ve said this over and over and my answer is NOT going to change!

We ended this on a HIGH note and Glory Be indeed!! I am drained — I can’t even imagine how drained the family is…

If the ho doesn’t have a migraine tomorrow, she certainly will by Friday! I hope to God Judge says tough crap ……….

the judge was soooo annoyed with walking idiot and all of her fn approaches! That had to be an all time record! Walking idiot tattles like a grade schooler and then switches to a HS debater!! She still can’t admit she cannot win at debating her cause but she sure was hellbent to keep trying!

Ahhhh, after the complete torture of the day, the night sure made up for it! Thank God, that He brought us all Juan to be the voice for Travis!

    • ringadingding
      05/02/2013 at 9:08 am

Moon–Horn looked pretty put off by being called back in, didn’t he? I hope he understands now how the DT had been playing tricksy with the typo.

  9. 05/02/2013 at 12:11 am

OMG!! How many times do the defense and prosecution get to go back and forth at this defense”expert”? This is absolutely absurd!!! PLEASE end it now!!! WE are all through with it and Jodi and Willmott and Nurmi!!! PLEASE!!!
    Let the jury deliberate NOW!!

  10. Marilyn N
    05/02/2013 at 12:12 am

Oh, OK. Well I hope it was clear to the jury that it was an honest typo error, as he clearly knew something wasn’t
right about it when asked the question.

    • HJ Madison
      05/02/2013 at 12:15 am

That is what I thought too — he fumbled thru his report and seemed surprised. Bottom line though, no bleeding because she had already slit his throat. Idiot Wilnot asked how long it would take to bleed out her words … ..WOBO nearly decapitated him! Not to be too gory!! Sorry!!!

      • ringadingding
        05/02/2013 at 9:09 am

HJ–that was great to see her at a loss for words when he said it would take seconds to bleed out.

  11. 05/02/2013 at 12:12 am

Yes thank you Donchais for this incredible, surprising venue. Never knew anything like this existed, granted I’m in the dark ages technically. You’ve hooked up the world and created a place for me to learn from so many. We’ve shared thoughts/ideas and for the most part all in a respectful manner. You’ve kept out the unfriendlies which I’m sure is a lot of work. Only one regret, that we all gathered together for such a reason but I hope and pray by doing so, we have made a difference. I know you all have for me by opening up my understanding, knowing people are indeed compassionate and passionate. We are indeed human by having a conscience. May peace be with us all and as we maintain solidarity for the Alexanders and their friends as this part of their journey ends and they begin another. They, as well us, will never be the same. Sending rots of ruv thru them airraves!

I think the jury could have a strong case of PTSD after this is said and done!

It is completely bonkers to me that she would have short short days, not have court on Fridays and several other days………. never started on time, breaks never ended on time, recess was called when she wasn’t sure how to handle an objection………several potty breaks for the toilette ……………..and then because she said they would go today till it was over she was hellbent on keeping her word on that one thing! Mind boggling!

A few years ago, here in Colorado, Timothy Masters … he spent 10 yrs in jail for a crime he did NOT commit. The DA at the time became a judge. His release was a huge deal. Both judges (the one that presided over the original trial and the DA that became a judge) were ousted at election. It was all over our local news.

I would love to read these jurors evals once this is all over.

      • 05/02/2013 at 6:57 am

It’s SO hard to vote a judge out of office. In CA, Judges don’t even appear on the ballot unless they have an opponent. Total BS!

Did anyone notice after coming back from one of the longer breaks when Geffner was on the stand, the MS came back into the courtroom well into the testimony. I found it disrespectful. Was she out getting a nice dinner? And who is paying her fee?

I figured out that Dr Geffner ONLY seems to testify in states that he’s NOT licensed in, such as TN, AZ, HI. But no cases in TX or CA where he is licensed! Could that be because if he pulled the crap that he has in numerous cases in the states where he is licensed that those licenses may be in trouble if he were to repeat such unprofessional behavior. If the crap he’s pulled in other cases happened in CA, his actions would be referred to his professional licensing board!

    • Kristy
      05/02/2013 at 1:01 am

I think it was deftly handled. He simply said it was a typo and didn’t dwell. He said that it had to have entered the dura matter (sp?). No shyte it had to have entered the dura matter.

      • 05/02/2013 at 1:06 am

ok ok good…. not that it matters.. because if he is shot in the face.. how the heck can she testify she was still in mortal danger and that she didn’t even know she shot him..

.. and still wouldn’t explain the magic bullet casing.

      • 05/02/2013 at 3:16 am

She didn’t know she shot him…ummm, did she not hear the loud BANG when the gun went off? Lol…

      • 05/02/2013 at 6:45 am

And if it did enter the dura matter…incapacitation! Right? That’s what Geffner was basing his testimony on, wasn’t he?

    • 05/02/2013 at 1:05 am

maybe I misread it.. I thought there is a typo in Dr Horn’s report re the membrane being damaged… I better go back and re-read. I may have completely misinterpreted it.

      • Kristy
        05/02/2013 at 1:12 am

It depends on how the jurors see the typo as well as his response to the error. I don’t remember her saying that he said there was a no dura matter during his discussions with the defense or on the stand. I think what she nailed him on was that he said his report was accurate.

I think that is in reference to how shoddy Dr. Samuals was and trying to equate the ME to Dr. Samuals. I’m glad the jurors asked about it to get clarity. Hopefully I’m not seeing a glass half full.

Of course, the jurors would have to say to themselves that all of the oddities of Jodi’s stories are true along with the brain not being impacted by the bullet wound. After all the stories on brain injury we’ve been hearing about due to the Iraq war, we haven’t heard about folks continuing on and functioning after getting head injuries.

    • NancyB
      05/02/2013 at 1:47 am

Oh I think it’s not a big deal at all. There are typos all the time in medical reports. When I 1st heard that testimony I knew that Juan HAD to get Dr Horn to straighten it out and I was soooo relieved when Donchais posted that he was there! I was shocked that JW had not brought it up and I was thrilled that one juror was so intelligent to clear that loose thread up. Dr Horn was smiling with the jurors after the 1st question about are all his patients dead or something like that and he told them “he hoped so”. 2nd & last question was the smart juror wondering about how the bullet entered the frontal lobe with the Dura Mater intact. I truly think that it’s a non issue BUT you know that Nurmi will make a HUGE deal of it in his closing arguments. That stupid Dr Geffner & JW mispronounced Dura Mater all day and it was driving me nuts!!

      • 05/02/2013 at 1:59 am

are you spoiling it all for me NancyB 😛

      • 05/02/2013 at 6:41 am

I interpret this whole part in a much more sinister way. Since the defense and Geffner discussed the gunshot wound all day as though it were a fact that the dura matter was left in tact…since that’s what the ME report said, that the DT really wanted to leave that error untouched since it benefited Jodi. Geffner said many times he assumed the ME report was accurate. Wilmott’s last question to Horn was to make him affirm that indeed his entire report was accurate. It then took a very astute and wise juror to point out that this typographical error existed in the report. Now that Horn acknowledged the error, the defense will not be able to say the ME’s report benefits Jodi as they were prior. I don’t think it’s a small deal. Then again, it is late.

    • 05/02/2013 at 6:48 am

We need to thank that juror for helping Horn see that typo. Now the defense’s entire theory is gone, as it was based on the ME’s “accurate” report stating the dura matter was in tact. Since it wasn’t, everything Geffner was saying about incapacitation is out the window!

The thing I hate most about all of this.. and it far outweighs playing with words and dissecting testimonies..

Is that this evil doppelgänger uses her heinous cold blooded, vicious murder of a decent, innocent human being to try to justify her actions…. and just sits there calmly, totally detached from the proceedings as if she had nothing to do with any of it.

      05/02/2013 at 1:29 am

I can’t see how the jury has any reason to relate to Jodi based on her demeanor during the trial. She seems to be the anti-defense client.

I certainly hope that the jury, who doesn’t have the knowledge that the rest of us do that watch the trial and see external influences see Jodi for what she is.

I hope not. The reality is that each experience is different, not matter if it sounds similar. And that was I think the real point of the question. I actually wasn’t happy at Horns response given that this is a dp trial. I see that as something one would say to friends and family, but as a ME he should have been totally serious. Of course, he was being asked a nonsensical question regarding the people he looked at. being a ME he only looked at dead folks.

I wish I were less pessimistic, but as I’ve droned on to anyone who’d listen, I’ve watched case after case of ” sure” guilty verdicts go the other way. Because she has bent over backward to preserve this trial, I think the judge will make every decision possible that favors the defense in both charges and jury instructions. I can only hope that the jury gets it right! I can live with either the DP or LWP, but anything that would lead to celebration by the DT would be devastating!

(I’m super tired, so this likely makes little sense!)
What a day! I can’t believe ALL testimony is finally over!!! Enduring the “water spilling, fumbling, BURPING, false smiling, TWIT of a doc”. Questions from Perky that were stupid beyond imagination, and near the end, became down right cruel and thoughtless to the Alexander family. Juan had several stellar moments- loved the “gopher vs lion” and “Is Prosecuter 6′ or 6’2″…. I’m a bit worried about a couple of juror Q’s and feel uneasy about “Dr. Rob Lowe Horn” admitting to a typo. But hopefully it was recovered by Juan. Mostly I think today was a complete waste of time, JMO. I look forward to closing from Juan, and am dreading the defense’s FINAL trashing of Travis.

I hope the Travis and his family get justice, I pray the jury GETS IT, and focuses on what it’s really about. A jealous psychopath that premeditated a horrific murder.

I’m not worries about the typo. I really think the juror GOT IT. It was almost like a direct response to Wilmott expressly making Horn put on the record that his report “was accurate”. I think they knew that typo was in there and helped Jodi. Geffner’s testimony was predicated on this report that had this typo. Now that the typo has been admitted to, thanks to an alert juror who pointed it out, it completely negates everything Geffner said in that area. Smart juror!!

Morning Crystal 🙂 I was not thinking of the juror question like that… But thanks to your talke on it, I feel so much better! Dr. Horn did handle it well, and Juan did a good job buttoning it up. The fact the a PhD was even allowed to give a (lengthy) “opinion” was just SO crazy! I am also hoping the jury is thinking, “why didn’t the defense find an ME to testify”?

Found em have em lined up on my apple tv playlist! Watching your Dr Drew vid first though .. I find the Skye Hughes factor fascinating.. because it was sooo important to Jodi.. she hated Skye Hughes because she saw through Jodi first.

That’s why so much of interrogation vid 2 is Jodi rambling about the Hughes’ particularly Skye. It shows what was important to Jodi.

Maybe some don’t put relevance in psychology… but we are all humans and the more we understand about human nature the better seems astounding to me not to see it that way. I can’t see it any other way. I guess that’s why I’m in what I deem an extremely important field and not in what I consider a frivolous area.

We all have different perspectives and that’s what makes us individuals.

Syn – From my experience, sociopaths are most threatened by those who “have their number.” Those who see through them and know who and what they are become enemy #1. Partly because they are of no use to the sociopath because they can no longer be manipulated and also because they are a person who can reveal them for what they are. At that point, they become someone who must be attacked and demonized because they are a threat. At this point, the sociopath usually engages in character assassination because they need to make the person who might expose them appear to be crazy, or a criminal or something undesirable that makes them less credible……..

Hey Donchais! Thanks so much for your recap!!! I’ve been gone for what feels like an eternity. Dealing with a major family crisis for the past few days. And I was so looking forward to hearing today’s testiphony but, alas, was kept away yet again. I heard about 5 mins of Dr. Jill Hayes on the stand before Juan said “The State rests”. I’m so tired at this point, I’m just diving in where ever I may land. Consider the next few cases of $2 Chuck on me. Thanks again for everything you do. Eeennaanndd…I’ve gotta try get up early to hear Juan’s closing when all I want to do is sleep for days. I guess the only benefit is that I didn’t have to experience my ears bleeding whenever Perky was up. TG for that! Cheers, GF! For all that you do… 🙂 Nite all…see ya on the other side.

    HJ Madison :
I heard it as more like “Who is buried in Grants tomb?”. These people are EXHAUSTED — and you know the good Dr. gets asked that all the time. I agree, DP is serious, but I think everyone is at their wits end.

It is exhausting. I can’t imagine how Travis’s family has been holding up through this.

  41. 05/02/2013 at 2:25 am

Watching the Dr Drew and I agree with that Janine person…. I believe the Judge shows more of a bond to the DT.. whether it is to Perky personally or to Arias.. I don’t know.. I tend to think it is a Perky link. Which is what I tried to say yesterday.

I think she finds it difficult to stand up to the DT because there is some kind of personal link. It may not be an affinity to Jodi perse . I hope I’m reading that right because would hate to think the bond stems from sympathy to Jodistein.. that’s unthinkable to me.

    • NancyB

I don'[t see it. I agree she gives in to every one of Wilma’s stupid “can we approaches” but I find her to overrule more on DT & have much more respect for Juan

      • 05/02/2013 at 2:40 am

watch the body language that’s where it shows very strongly.. well to me it’s strongly. Not saying she dislikes Juan not at all.. just that there is a strong bond with Perky… that’s how it presents

She probably has a daughter and feels bad for Jodi..blah blah blah…sick.

    • Lisa M
      05/02/2013 at 12:24 pm

      • Lisa M
        05/02/2013 at 12:26 pm

Although I haven’t taken note of the judge’s body language — do you mean during sidebars? — so I don’t have an opinion on that. I just get the sense she overrules the DT more, but maybe it’s because I’m so happy when she does, I notice it more than when she overrules Juan.

A few comments on your (as usual wonderful recap):

    “Testiphony” = LOVE it

Proven during this trial: D students become defense witnesses while A students become prosecution witnesses.

Geffner was a typical defense witness – burping under direct by Wilma then spilling his water all over the table & saying “oh shit” 2x while under Juan’s cross.

Geffner: Prior to bringing up Alyce LaViolette, his testimony is worthless / After bringing up LaViolette, he’s asking “do you want fries with that order”?

“Samuels, LaVioltte, and Geffner will be opening a car wash soon” – don’t forget to add Gus Searcy to that group.

Seriously, I really hope that ANYONE that was ever on the losing end of a case where LaViolette or this moron were involved in ANYWAY get it reevaluated ASAP.

Dr. Jill Hayes was honest, articulate, intelligent, & beautiful & finally brought commonsense back to this trial.

    QUESTION! QUESTION!! QUESTION???

I have served on several Juries at the federal level (including as a Foreman in a somewhat protracted case) and I understand the federal Rules, as well as the State Rules to serve (as a Juror) in my home State. Is Arizona that different? How is it that a Juror was already able to read the Autopsy Report of the M.E., Kevin Horn? Are the Rules of Court so different in the State of Arizona that there is a special grant of allowance to Jury members to let them review evidence during the case itself? If not, how did the Juror get a hold of the Autopsy Report in order to pick it apart and find that one [almost] insignificant typographical error (that is not that insignificant)?

It seemed that WillNot prepared for that Juror’s question, by initially making an effort to question the completeness of that Report and to make sure that ALL of the Jurors heard that the Report had been reviewed for correctness. Basically, the response of the M.E. concerning the Autopsy Report was that it was up to snuff. The next thing that followed was one question submitted by the Jury (to which the M.E. responded). This was followed by one question posed by the prosecutor and another posed by WillNot (of which the M.E. answered). Then, one more Juror’s question was submitted (that dealt with whether there was or was not damage to [the fibrous matter covering the brain] the dura mater, that was mispronounced by BOTH the Judge and the criminal lawyer WillNot). However, this question had nothing to do with the response by the M.E. or the two questions [posed by the lawyers] of which the Jurors would have heard the answers (and based their question). This also dealt with a matter that was solely contained in the Autopsy Report. So, where did that slip of paper with that particular question come from? If this was NOT submitted by a Juror, how has the process become tainted? If the question was submitted by a Juror, exactly when did that Juror read that Autopsy Report in order to catch that particular error?

If the Jury is already permitted to review the evidence, this does not need a drawn out response, if too much bother. However, a yes or no and a pointing to the area in the Rules the answer could be found would be appreciated.

THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO CAN PROVIDE AN ANSWER.

SORRY DONCHAIS. That was rude to post before I read. (You covered the typo I addressed, and others had already discussed it when I posted.) Please forgive the faux pas. Regrettably, I got carried away with my frustration with what has been allowed with this Trial, and common sense went out the window. That space should not have been taken up with that worry [that was already being brought out by fellow peeps who knew much more about the subject matter]. I am sorry.

I did not read and catch up [on my time delay] before posting. The only excuse I have is that I could no longer stomach listening to this so-called expert [and had hit mute]. If I had listened [and not sped through], I would have heard the discussion between WillNot and this so-called expert, and the error would not have been committed. The only excuse that can be given is that the testiphony was scrambling my mind and I felt the need to escape or else be stuck in a time warp with a male version of LaViolette. First, he droned on-and-on-and-on. [All I can say is] that miserable flat tone of voice they have affects me in a negative way. Then, when his voice switched over to that which sounded more like Darryl Brewer, it gave me the creeps. This was after I knew I could not watch the testiphony because this so-called expert reminded me of that first so-called expert witness (that introduced that recorded phone sex tape). It was just too much, and I just could not go through with trying to take notes. These characters are too sleazy, and this one and that other sleazeball (that I remember Robert in Rotterdam saying something about being a brat or son of someone in the hierarchy of NBC) definitely belong with Jodi Arias and her ilk — you know, birds of a feather. Anyway, this type reminds me of that role played by Robin Williams in One Hour Photo. There is just something so creepy with them, that it is too hard to explain.

These accusations of pedophilia [in this case] in combination with those creatures crawling out of the woodwork have given me the heebie-jeebies. For the past several weeks, I have tried to fit these worms in with certain facts gleaned from that Casey Anthony case. I wish I were more adept at jailbreaking because I would have finished piecing together all of those broken pieces from that computer and put the d*mn puzzle together. Hey, there’s still time. When Wendy Murphy mentioned pedophilia with that Casey Anthony case, that bit of information was stored away to be used another day.

This [review on the Amazon web site] was posted the day before on the last page before this one:
Please look very, very closely at Robert Geffner, April 23, 2013
By Bradley Hall (London United Kingdom) – See all my reviews
This review is from: Identifying and Treating Sex Offenders: Current Approaches, Research, and Techniques (Journal of Child Sexual Abuse Monographic “Separates”) (Paperback)
I believe everyone should read this book, and every book by Geffner, and closely examine the entire body of work and entire career of Geffner and of all of his close collaborators. I believe that what we will find will open our eyes.

In the footnotes on Page 13 of the Summary Judgment in favor of plaintiffs in Morris vs. Dearborne:
“17. The child was made to play a game where she was given points for circling the words “f* *k” and “p*n*s;” however, she was never able to do so without prompting. Additionally, Goforth asked the child to draw “lick p*n*s” and “f* *k” and even asked the child to “show [her] how to f* *k.” These counseling sessions took place under the supervision of GEFFNER, through CTPS.

This so-called expert is a real toad. Where did the criminal lawyers get such a line-up of these creatures more suited to scurrying around or slithering to-and-fro? At least more people seem to see into what this really is and what these pathetic excuses for humans really are.

      • 05/02/2013 at 11:41 am

I am glad you posted your 1st post cuz I was surprised so many people missed the significance of that juror’s question and how significant it was and how much it helped the prosecution to get that typo on the record.

  44. 05/02/2013 at 2:33 am

good – they show the clip of Dr Demarte reiterating it isn’t low self esteem.. it’s lack of definite personality.. ie her personality morphs constantly. It’s so weird to explain.. she has no personality.. but in fact that is her personality to have no personality.. just a convenient persona to project whatever she wants to project at any given time.

Hence this woman’s description of the jello molding.

ahhh yes she even threatened the suicide if he cut ties with her… that’s EXACTLY what doofus did to me. It is such an extreme a violation, it’s pure psychological and emotional abuse and it creates a form of real PTSD.

It’s manipulation and you know it BUT in your heart and conscience it elicits a tug of war you think “well they won’t kill themselves” but then you think “what if they do? what if he/she does it? How would I live with myself?”

This is all what I suspected. Oh how I know what Travis went through, oh how I know what this feels like! I also understand the mechanics of it theoretically.

This is why it’s not cut and dried to extricate yourself from these people. They do everything EVERYTHING to keep control of you.

If EVER you even suspect someone is like this.. RUN RUN at the very first red flag..

Don’t excuse them.. don’t think “well they have been so nice up to now and done this and that. They have been so good to me surely this must just be an anomaly”. DON”T chance it.. Trust your instincts and get the hell out of the situation IMMEDIATELY. If you see it happening to someone you care about .. give them all the literature you can about these people. MAKE them see what is happening.

These are dangerous characters. Extremely dangerous characters.. It is so important to educate yourself about these people and so important for everyone around you to know what people like this are capable of.

I agree 1000% percent, Syn. You get sucked in. You are a good person and you care about other people. If someone threatens suicide as a result of you breaking off the relationship, you feel guilty and responsible. This is how normal people with consciences feel. But these people take advantage of our normal human feelings. They don’t have any of these feelings themselves. But they use ours to manipulate us into feeling sorry for them and to become engaged in their issues. Run. Please run. Don’t buy into this. It is a trap. A dangerous, scary trap.

  47. 05/02/2013 at 3:13 am

    Just need to vent guys.
What a day! I wanted to gauge my eyes out with a spoon during Wilma’s show. After all this time she still doesn’t see how much of an ass she is? Again, her questions make no sense half the time..the ok’s..and so you saids made me nuts too! How many times have witnesses said they didn’t understand her question? The continual reviews of what was already said and discussed as she uses her accusatory tone as if she’s going to catch them in a lie. The list goes on. She doesn’t know how to STFU everrrr!

Judge Stephens is a joke. I’m so sick of her leniency with the DT. They have gotten away with murder(no pun intended) and the NON-STOP “may we approach” and objections by Jenny from the block have wasted valuable time. She’s a wuss and doesn’t deserve her position in a murder trial. Maybe for traffic violations but a DP case? Nope! If Judge Blevin Perry was on this case everyone would have been thrown out. She also should have put a stop to JA and JW having a little party at their table. The constant whispering, note passing, eye rolling, giggling and coaching of witnesses on the stand should have been stopped from day 1! It was very childish, distracting and unprofessional what the DT was doing. I hope the jury noticed it since they did notice AL constantly looking at the DT table and smiling at Jodi.

Who cares if she has BPD, PTSD or schizophrenia! The fact of the matter is that she murdered Travis and it was 100% premeditated. The proof is there. Tons of proof. Millions of lies. Deceitful behaviors. Manipulation. She was the abuser. SHE was the sexual deviant. She was EVERYTHING the defense claimed Travis was. So why bother wasting all those days and all the tax payers money just to try and prove these diagnoses? If only 4 (alleged) physical fights..again alleged..or some angry name calling and angry nasty words define domestic violence then every single couple/woman in the world must be battered! They are drifting away from what this case is about.

She can’t win! She can’t get manslaughter! Imagine the gloating, giggles and smirks from the bff’s?? Oh dear lord. Please help us. Justice for Travis!!!!

    • HJ Madison
      05/02/2013 at 3:40 am

Good rant! Hang in there … really …. You said it exactly … it is all about premeditation. I have never, ever seen so much circumstantial evidence stack up this way. Every month, hundreds of criminals are found guilty on much, much less. And I think, in a way, this battle of the experts is going to be ok because it is just so hard for any “rational” human to wrap their mind around the nature of this crime. And this endless on..and on .. just helped “ease” us into the idea that she did it in a cold calculating way and deserves nothing less than 1st degree. And the judge (who is awful) has given them EVERY opportunity now ….. everything ….. and I think it is because she too sees it as a slam dunk and never ever wants it back in her courtroom again. I just must believe this ….

  48. 05/02/2013 at 3:18 am

another very interesting thing Skye says….Jodi claimed she has a vision from god that she was destined to marry Travis…

this is EXACTLY what she claimed Travis said to her about [I think] it was Mimi.. (in an early interrogation vid) this is a classic example of Jodistein telling the truth but reversing her thinking and projecting it onto Travis. NO way did Travis say that, in fact I don’t believe any of that story about her being on the bed and him showing Mimi’s face book page to Jodi is true in any way.

Jodi KNOWS exactly what she is doing, she knows her inner thoughts are diabolical… she uses all her twisted inner thinkings to portray Travis as herself. Knowing it is not how he was, it is actually how she is. This is why she cannot write a diary like the rest of us.. how can she write her inner thoughts when they are twisted evilness? She can’t and she knows it!

She lives her whole life trying to hide her inner nature.. that’s why she can offer up her diaries to Detective Flores… “Hey did you see my diaries? They show I’m not a bad person.. go read them you’ll see”

    • Commerce1
      05/02/2013 at 4:00 am

Do you recall how she testified she was at Travis’ memorial service and that she was in a room by herself and felt Travis was “there” letting her know he was OK and everything was alright? As if his spirit visited her and told her it was peachy keen that she’d killed him cause it was part of some master plan? I found that to be so offensive. Particularly to his family.

      • 05/02/2013 at 4:03 am

yep.. and I believe this goes to her killing him to keep him with her.. and also the throat slit .. the salvation.. yes i killed you but I sent you to eternal salvation to make sure you lived eternally in heaven.

It all ties in. It’s so bizarre yet when you twist your mind into her disordered way of thinking.. it makes so much sense. But we must be careful not to stay there.. for if we dwell there too long it affects us in terrifying ways.

Exactly, Syn. It’s terrifying. You want to go there to a certain extent beause you’re trying to figure out WTF went on…..but the reality is that it is far beyond that. She is a beast that will be studied for many years to come and will eventually be determined to be a monster far beyond what we even know now. Once she has been convicted and no one is concerned about her rights as a defendent, they will study her and figure out all the psychopathology that afflicts her. It wil be fascinating.

I don’t think there are many professions who have that capacity to impact an individual. It’s easy from the outside… when it isn’t happening to you or hasn’t happened to you .. to think.. well why don’t they just leave… anyone.. ANYONE.. can inadvertently be caught by these types.. anyone who is kind, compassionate and empathetic. Anyone who has true human qualities.

We are the weak to these monsters.. because they know it is those qualities they can appeal to when they are sucking us to them. Playing their one sided game, one which the other person has no idea is being played.

Like Skye Hughes warning Travis that the stalker email was pure manipulation to bring Jodi to Mesa to ‘protect’ her.

He couldn’t believe she was capable of it.. because she would be constantly mind controlling him.. that’s why she even waited outside the loo when he used it…. making sure she was constantly there to keep him tied to her and continue her brain washing of him.

      05/02/2013 at 4:18 am

Exactly. You completely understand because you have lived it just as I have.

It’s your problem. It’s you. You’re the one with the issues. It’s not them………

      • 05/02/2013 at 4:21 am

yeah it’s gaslighting.. have you watched that movie? It’s good for her she has someone to save her.. I didn’t have that hero in real life.. I had to dig myself out.

        it’s a 1940s movie.

  51. 05/02/2013 at 4:42 am

Hillarie…. we share something very few poeple can understand. I think we are so strong to have come through this. I don’t know how you do it with a son. I assume ‘he’ is the father. I cannot imagine what that would be like because for me I had to take the no contact ever again route.. how do you do that with a son?

If I am stepping on too personal ground ignore my line of questioning.

It took several restraining orders to finally limit our communication to in writing only. That way I have documentation of everything he says to me. I literally have not spoken to him verbally in 5 years. Everything is through email or text message. It’s amazing how much self-control he has when he is writing something that I can easily pass on to a judge. It is the only thing that has shut him down.

Syn – that Anonymous post at 11:26 am was me responding to your question. Not sure why it posted as Anonymous…….

But to follow up, I had a judge limit his communication with me to in writing only and regarding parenting issues only. It was the only way to shut it down.

  52. 05/02/2013 at 5:59 am

It’s 2:48am and I just finished watching today’s testimony. Wow! I can’t believe it’s all over. Here are my thoughts on yesterday.
    1. Dr Hayes may need to get a hearing test. Geez. I liked her, but seriously. She needs to get her ears checked.
    2. That last juror question to Dr Horn seemed VERY deliberate to save his report. Defense was really making the point about having Horn testify to his report being accurate. Then that juror pointed out the part about the “dura…whatever” in the brain. And BAM! Horn notices his typo mistake. Thank goodness.
    3. I can’t believe anything Wilmott asserts in her questions ever since her “Lenore Walker” fiasco. She is completely over her head in this trial. I had to laugh when she gets upset when JM objects, when her rate of objection to his is about 5-1. Also, it says a lot about her competence when it takes her five times as long to examine witnesses as it does Juan. The jury knows this.
    4. Geffner was rendered completely moot in all aspects of his testimony by the time the day was over. I never doubted this would be the case given his profile coming in and the skill of Juan Martinez.
I think that’s it. I don’t feel like sleeping for some reason, but I’m gonna try. Goodnight!

  53. 05/02/2013 at 6:44 am

LOL quick drop in… had to laugh.. Jodistein who is supposed to be a freakin genius of Einstein proportions… now doesn’t even have an iq of 119.. its 112! hahahaahahhha that’s barely above average.. I mean nothing special at all!!!

yeah and she has self esteem probs!

ok gotta run.. may not be around at the start of tonight.. err your today… but hoping to get back around 2:30am my time.. 11:30am AZ time. Hope it all goes well today. I’m not even sure what is supposed to be happing… the defenses closing?? sheesh maybe I should just wait and get it off boob tube as CC’sC calls it.

Oh the part where the juror asks Dr Horn are people you autopsy dead 100% of the time…. part 7 jumps over and over and misses parts also. Right where that question he asks what I was viewing jumps… so I guess I need to hope another version comes out so I get to see it..

wasn’t happy!!! Wonder why it was so bad quality through quite a bit of it. Anyone have probs viewing it live?

    Good morning, peeps!

I can’t believe I watched the whole thing! I noticed some of you are worried about the typo in the ME’s report. I doubt the jury will worry about it because the way it was written didn’t make sense. Kudos to the jury for highlighting it in their questions. Dr. Horn admitted he missed it, and let he/she who has not missed an error when proof-reading a document, please raise your hand.

Assuming a 1st degree conviction, I’ve read elsewhere that people are worried about an overturn on appeal due to this error.

Not to worry! I’ve read tons of appeals where such errors were used. Some were even larger errors. There is such a thing as “harmless error” in which, if the error would not have made a difference in the outcome of the trial, it is not considered.

Considering the extreme violence involved in the slaughter of Travis Alexander, this typo or transcription error is smaller than the period at the end of this sentence.

See you all for closing arguments today!

Hello room after an exhausting day! Just some thoughts from a book about psychopathic behavior which I thought pertinent after some of yesterday’s sandbox play:

“Sometimes a creep is just a creep. However, only a psychopath is ever a psychopath”

“..completely reliable is their negative and relentless predatory consciousness.”

” have found time and time again that most of the psychopaths i have encountered were the most ardent and smug defenders of science, even though these individuals had no real understanding of the scientific principle..”

“Pseudo-intellectualism coupled with totalitarianism is not science; it is fascistic bullying and in the case of many of these ‘de-bunker’ bloggers who invoke science during their straw man tactics…”

“…consider this radical atheism a secular religion which generally attracts the same fanatical and intolerant personality types…Psychopaths, for the most part, adore atheism and use it to exploit people as much as religious charatans so.”

“…piggyback and leap-frog on the efforts and talents of others. They are the ultimate huiman parasite…”

“..the predatory nature of the psycopath never changes…” (and, finally:)

“:Sometimes, the only way to win is not to play.”

The author of your book apparently failed to tell the psychotic and criminally insane patients I observed and interviewed at the Utah State Hospital back in the mid 60’s how to conform their behavior and beliefs to his alleged findings. In fact, the psychiatrist I was working with at the time displayed more of the “symptoms” you referred to than any of the patients at the hospital. But that was way back when the accepted science was that all the patients needed was carefully planned behavior modification.

My mind was crushed by the testimpony yesterday. I had no interest in even trying to follow the logic of the witnesses; I gave up caring about wobo’s diagnosis and was suffocating listening to that toupee-wearing gasbag distinguished professor at the university he founded. Imagine the two of them–LaToilette and him – at one of those “institute” conferences or at one of those “groups’ that people “have” to attend for some anger managment through the Government or courts. Or all those poor foreign students who do all the grunge work and pay enormous amounts of money for this guys “expertise.” Juanster helped me a couple of time…”when you regaled us” and “with all of your experience, I know its hard to put a number on it, but just a ballpark figure, how many autopsies have you performed?”.

Morning darlin’ – can’t believe how long you stayed yesterday

Anyway, I just lovvvvvvvvvvved the regaled comment as well as the ballpark amount of autopsies. JM is sooooooooooo good but he truly was fading at the end. I have never heard him talk that softly or slowly before. I hope that he got lots of rest and didn’t have to then go work on his closing arguments.

it really is an endless job, once court ends for these guys. I caught a glimpse of his notes and there’s not much on each of the pages. He has incredible focus and the mind of a steel trap. It’s truly no wonder the def attorneys don’t like him – he makes them all look like amateurs!

The only other prosecutor who has impressed me as much was the David Walgren who prosecuted Conrad Murray. He had every single fact at his fingertips albeit Murray had lousy defense counsel. I remember reading somewhere that he was going to do something else in the DA’s office (a promotion) because both he and his wife worked there and it was hard with their kids. I remember thinking what a waste, because he is truly so good and the good ones need to be in the courtroom.

Anyway, that article popped up in an google alert this morning and as soon as I saw that Michael Kiefer had written it I stopped reading it. He is very pro defense and imo wouldn’t know objective reporting if he fell over it. I watched both the Hughes on Dr. Drew and they truly loved Travis and that’s all I need to know. As for JA, well I think we all have her number. 😉

I had no idea about MK! I read it without knowing the bias, and what I took away from it was how awful I felt for the Hughes being sucked in by JA- and how glad I was that they figured her out. I saw both interviews on Dr. Drew too, and it was so evident how much they loved Travis (I was all goosebumps after the eavesdropping story! Jaysu, that was creepy!).
“Soldier Boy” is just his formal name- none of us use it. I still call him “Sweet Boy” (but he is a Mamma’s boy!) He’s doing SO well! So all the talk non stop about if the bullet was incapacitating, did we all forget that jodi’s defense is that the gun just went off? How do you get a bullet starting in the forehead area end up moving in a downward motion if the person shooting the gun isn’t standing over them prior to shooting them? This should be something the jury can use for sure to debunk the “gun just went off” defense. Right?

    05/02/2013 at 10:52 am

baily good @ #153 – Judge Stephens is a joke. I’m so sick of her leniency with the DT.

Yes the judge has been a pain in the ass with all the sidebars and approaches, but she’s been evenhanded in her decisions on evidence she considered prejudicial. That included the long critical email from Sky Hughes (that’s Sky with no (e) for those of you who continue to misspell it). A portion of that rambling email was published today online at the Arizona Republic/ azcentral.com news site:

    http://www.azcentral.com/community/mesa/articles/20130430jodi-arias-trial-unreleased-e-mail-exchange-revealed.html

If the judge had allowed the actual emails instead of only allowing LaViolette to indirectly refer to them during testimony it most likely would have established in some juror’s minds that Travis indeed mentally abused Arias. In one email Sky Hughes says in no uncertain terms that Arias “was being treated horribly, you weren’t beating her physically, but you were emotionally.” She also says “it would scare me to death if my little sister liked you, in fact I wouldn’t allow it.”

Sky and her husband later came to the conclusion Arias had been manipulating them, and since then have repudiated those parts of the email exchanges critical of Travis and complimentary of Arias. But if Sky hadn’t exchanged those meddlesome emails with Travis in the first place, the battered woman defense probably wouldn’t have materialized. Without that scolding evidence I doubt the defense would have introduced battering, because there wouldn’t have been anything else to back it up but Arias’ claims..

    • Lisa M
      05/02/2013 at 11:58 am

I agree with you Jay. I have been frustrated with the judge, myself, but it’s much easier to criticize than to do. She has been even-handed– the schedule has been a little bit bonkers, but her mild manner I think is a good thing, because she keeps herself out of the equation. Re: Sky Hughes, I will say in her and her husband’s defense, that, assuming Jodi is borderline personality disorder, or in any case, very manipulative, which we can probably all agree on, I believe her explanation that she and Chris were manipulated by Jodi. I had a friend, who is most likely borderline, who did the same to me. I fell hook line and sinker for her explanation of how badly her boyfriend was treating her, but later came to find out that the issue really was her. Because of her crying and distress, her complaints really did seem valid, until I got to know her much better. Unlike Chris and Sky, though, I never got personally involved. The most I did was give her bf a dirty look (which I now realize was unfair!) I’m sure it must really kill both Chris and Sky to have been manipulated by Jodi and then to have what they said used in court for her own benefit! It’s just a very unfortunate situation and I’m not surprised they have strong feelings about it.

      05/02/2013 at 12:49 pm

Hi Jay: I felt the same way about the judge until yesterday. When she allowed Dr. Dolittle as sur-rebuttal on the topic of the ME I lost it. That should have come in during the DT’s case in chief. They were not able to find a qualified expert to get on the stand and say that the sentance in the MEs report that made no sense (and was unfortunatley shown MUCH later to be a type-o) supported their argument that TA was shot first and retained mobility. So instead they use a Psychologist at the very last hour to opine on a gun shot wound! Ridiculous. I feel the judge has so little confidence in herself and is so terrified of reversal that she lost control.

Horrible, I know and I twitched the whole time! Anyhoo, I passed out around 1am and the trial was still going so I missed the ME & Dr. Hayes. Watching it on youtube this morning. And finally getting to what this has to do with you… I am noticing the replays and freezing on the feed now!!!! Must just tune it out when live 🙂

Morning Nienna! WAT doesn’t work for me, so I watch it here (you have to sit through a 15 sec car ad). http://www.kpho.com/category/224303/cbs-5-local-live-streaming
No one should have to endure HLN! “PAUSE”… “PLAY”… “You won’t miss a thing”! Ugh!

I just use WAT strictly because I find the guy who does the tweeting so hilarious!!! You really feel like you’re in the courtroom with him. Michael Keifer is one of the reporters that tweets from the backup feed I use but I totally ignore him although the other reporter does a good job.

Morning Nienna – you have my deepest condolences for having to watch HLN!!!!!! It just seemed like yesterday, maybe because so many people were watching that the freezing, replaying was so obvious. That’s why I always have another livestream going as backup but muted.

Even though JM is my man, I must admit that the ME is really a cutie and an excellent witness 😀

    05/02/2013 at 11:49 am

    Jury Instructions:
    This for a start:

    13-1105. First degree murder; classification

    A. A person commits first degree murder if:

    1. Intending or knowing that the person’s conduct will cause death, the person causes the death of another person, including an unborn child, with premeditation or, as a result of causing the death of another person with premeditation, causes the death of an unborn child.

The reason Arais testified she ‘didn’t know the gun was loaded’ (obviously contrived by her defense team) was to be able to claim she didn’t knowingly intend her conduct would cause death.

    • Jay
      05/02/2013 at 11:59 am

The didn’t know the gun was loaded defense first stipulated in 1949 by the legal team of Andrews, Andrews, and Andrews:

  86. Lisa M
    05/02/2013 at 12:09 pm

    Kristy :

One thing I will say: I don’t think Dr. Horn could have handled it better. He didn’t argue with Wimot, he admitted his mistake. He kept his composure. She may have won a point, but he mitigated it with his attitude. I still think his opinion about how the bullet would have incapacitated Travis if he was shot first (which he most likely wasn’t) is correct, and hopefully the jury won’t make too much of his typo. I mean, you have to admit, what’s fair is fair. Juan made mincemeat out of Samuels, but unlike the defense expert witnesses, the state’s experts admit their mistakes and still appear professional.

      👿 right!!!!!!

  109. 05/02/2013 at 12:36 pm

I was happy with Dr Hayes.. she got out my two biggest beefs with Dr Toupe…

    (1) the invalid tests cos demarte stressed they were based on (a) the ninjas and (b) the lying…

    (2) she stressed you can’t diagnose someone based on test results alone..

    so I was happy!!

Damn about Dr Horn’s report typo – man I bet he is kicking himself over that one.. obviously a paragraph that’s in the pro forma that wasn’t changed or something. I like him.. but he shoulda checked that cos it’s so pertinent.. I reckon he went back to check any original notes he has ASAP.

Oh FYI…… took me ages to find a decent boob tube version of yesterdays stuff anyone trying to source it… . make sure you get tawnidilly’s parts 1-4. For some reason the 1-7 parts by croakerqueen are soo jumpy and repeat too, they are really really hard to follow.. I recommend avoiding those.

Re: Horn. I know – didn’t like that one either. Also didn’t like that wilnot got him to say that 100% of people would have lost consciousness when gref previously said he evaluated 2 people with gsw to right frontal and did not loose consciousness. Although Horn did say in the same circumstances or something similar. Just hope jury caught it – cause wilnot brushed off his comment.

    Estimated time for Judge Instructions:
    Hours… it’s why juries so often come to wrong conclusions — too long, complicated, abstruse mind-boggling instructions;
This, for example, were the Casey Anthony Jury Instructions:

It’s making me sick that a gathering of this magnitude for the Alexanders should be a happy gathering like Travis’ wedding, not a MURDER trial. He will never experience the joy of a wedding, the ecstasy of a his child being born, raising him/her, doing homework with his child, experiencing the first tooth, graduations/proms, walking down the aisle, retirement. Why? Because that shell of a human sitting in baby blue took it all away from such a lovely, vivacious, life-loving young man. God be with his family today.

I think lala deserves NO consideration
I think Dodgy deserves NO consideration
I think Dr Toupe deserves 2% of my consideration…

    .. that’s done

Now the ME.. very credible but think he should have checked his report on those important factors and should have seen that error … but I still give his trajectory credence.. so shot was not first could not have been

DeMarte showed PTSD was a crock of shite so that backs up no consideration of dodgy and lala’s horseshite

JOdi shows no remorse at all in fact she spars with the prosecutor about when she slashed Travis’ neck.. an aggregious offense against humanity not just Travis.

She planned it.. the gas cans prove it,,, the fact she lied about having the 3rd gas can, her dying hair colout and I find no reasonable doubt that was to conceal her identity.

She deleted photos and tried to destroy the camera and the cards in the washing machine to cover her crime.

Se then systematically set about lying and lying for years until finally the I wasn’t there defense and ninja stories became even for her too ridiculous to hang on to.

Her display on 48 hours documentary is enough to show she lies freely and easily and displays no remorse or guilt.

I must find her guilty of first degree murder and DP because in my mind there is no reasonable doubt about any of the the above.

For all those still “worried” about Dr Horn’s typo. I’m explaining this again cuz I know not everyone has time to go upstairs and read older comments. Please understand what a huge blow to the Defense it was to have that typo corrected. The Defense caught that typo long ago. They were being sneaky. How many times did Geffner say he “assumed the ME report was correct.” How gracious of him. Then, when Wilma was questioning Horn, she went thru the charade of making him attest to his report and its accuracy, etc. The fact that the juror caught that typo completely negated Geffner’s testimony related to the gunshot wound. It was predicated on the dura matter being in tact. If the dura matter is not in tact…incapacitation occurs. Had that juror not caught the typo, the defense would have been able to use this info in closing. Now they can’t. It was a big blow to Jodi to have the record corrected!

Has the WOBO seen these instructions prior to today? If yes, in whole or in part? If she HAS seen them, you can bet she has them memorized. She’ll correct the Judge if she makes a mistake.

  179. 05/02/2013 at 1:29 pm

I don’t use glasses to read. I am near-sighted. She must be too. She needs glasses to see far.
If the jury needs to be told what a firearm is, they should not be on the jury.

    • Schaeffer
      05/02/2013 at 1:45 pm

The point we are making is she has used the glasses as a prop, as part of her “nerd” defense throughout the trial. She uses them inconsistently — sometimes she “pretends” needs them to read, but other times she doesn’t — she peeks over them, under them, through them, raises them up, holds them away from her face . . .The glasses are as FAKE as her tears. One day, she even wore JW’s glasses because she forgot hers but she wanted to keep up the pretense. I’ve worn glasses since I was 4, and trust me, I have never ONCE been able to switch glasses with someone! (And no, she is not wearing readers.)

If looks could kill JM would be dead right now. The psycho murderer formerly known as Jodi Arias is Seething inside. He is spot on with the assessment of how none of this is her fault. Her eye rolling and head shakes and jaw clenching are in full gear. Wilnotshutup AKA BCOM ( bad case of mange) is just as bad. Now BCOM and Arias are having their little break out, chat session while Juan closes. They had both better pay attention. The needle is on its way.

Nurmi reminds me of my husband’s criminal defense attorney…Herb Weston. Weston is older, but he weighed about 300 lbs. He was so disgusting the way he would talk about sexual deviancy, and the way he and my husband would do the whole “BFF” thing with the notes, etc. Weston would get so close to you when he approached you on the stand you could smell his B.O. Nurmi and Weston aren’t exactly alike, but enough so that I think about it.
OH OH OH! I have to tell you guys. I was going through a bunch of the letters my husband has written to my boys all at once (he’s allowed to send them letters), and all of a sudden I started seeing the word “edify”. I don’t think so.. unless she truly believes she is going to get off and they come back with 1st degree.. but i think with what juan is saying.. even she has to have doubts so she’ll have time to prepare a persona for it.

I hope she still thinks she is getting off scott free cos that’s the only way there will be a public outburst. Otherwise it will be after she is in her cell or something.. then she will lose it and I would love them to hve a cam and audio set up in there.. heck i’d pay for it to be!!!

    Allison :
Explain the Priceline thing to me.

This answer will appear again …. my first try went to moderation … I don’t know why … just ignore when it pops up later.

The bank statement shows a charge directly from Budget Car. She claimed she drove 100 miles to Redding to get the rental car because she got a deal thru Priceline and the sane deal was nit offered in Yreka. On the same bank statement it showed she bought her air ticket thru Priceline AND Priceline did the billing. So, to be believed, the Budget car should also have been billed thru Priceline. Got it?

I wonder what the WOBO thought when the police pulled her over in West Jordan, less than 24hours after she had murdered Travis. Do you think she thought “Oh, shit, I’m caught?” or was she not even scared? Obviously, she coolly lied her way out of it, but I wonder if, even for the briefest moment, she panicked. I’d love to have been a “fly on the car” on that occasion.

    • 05/02/2013 at 5:43 pm

I am confused about the Priceline/Budget connection. I see HJM explained it just above in response to Allison, but I still don’t get it. What I don’t understand is what he was saying about “paying up front” with Priceline and about it showing up on her credit card statement in Yreka instead of Redding . I must confess, I have never owned a credit card and I’ve never used any service like Priceline, so I need a very basic explanation. tx

Wow! My head is spinning. Beautiful to watch. Without notes the Juanster takes us through the narrative. Lines of his jump around in my head:
“a girl who can’t say no”
    “whats a girl to do?”
the :hoardes of skateboarders with screw drivers”
“the long finger pointig from the witness stand”
when she moves back to Yreka, “its almost like a ray of sunshine for Travis”
LaLa Toilette is the ‘apologist” who “lied on the stand”
wobo “likes the limlight” and “staged” things for the jury”
‘So what! he’s kissing another woman. Its his house!”
during phone call wobo “was squeling like a cat”
Maybe Muttual Bank uses the Law of Attraction”
The buglers in Yreka on May 28 “didn’t take money –too heavy; took one item from 4 rooms, no rifles, just a ,25 caliber gun”
She saw the other woman “with the light of the television, but now the light of truth is shining”
    “$12.96-the price of pre-meditation”
On the stand she sat amidst “a field of lies”where another “weed” would grow
she “lies and lies” and she’s “manipulative””
“None of it is ever her fault”
Travis “was extremely afraid of her stalking”–the”most prophetic words” were: “you’re the worst thing that ever happened to me”

He paints the premeditation on May 26 texts and calls.Shows the trip for the car, the hair color change, the gas cans, the gun, hiding the license plates. Tells us that we dont know that Travis expected her. “She told us that”

Typpical behavior from wobo and Gidget the BFFS. Talking and “drawing” during Juans closing. Wormi objects 3 times and is overruled twice. A break for a meal and more Juan when we return!
    Go Juanster!

But she did pay Priceline for a airline ticket. JM is saying she lied about the discount that there was not one. She went to Redding where noone knew her. If she rented through PPriceline it would have shown up as Priceline and it didn’t. He’s saying Priceline would not have let her pay Budget because Priceline would possibly never receied their money from the deal. Hope this helps.

Thank you! What he was saying went right over my head. I did, however, think of another reason she went to Redding to rent the car: she owed everyone money, especially her parents and grandparents, so they would have wondered why she was renting a car (without a GPS) to go on a long trip, when she had a decent, relatively new car with a GPS.

Hard to imagine Wurmi doing the closing. He would need 2 weeks at his speaking speed!

I would imagine that the jury is as fed up with the defense team as we are and if Wurmi tries to drag it out, they are just gonna be pissed. At least JM is pointing out the truth and you can see how passionate about this case. Plus they are seeing how the Arias family is dealing with this compared to the Alexanders who are truly suffering.

How prophetic Flores was when telling Jodi (don’t remember exact words) that she didnn’t want to mess with the prosecutor. So glad he’s there. And to think he does it for the love of justice as he doesn’t make much in comparison to private practice (WOBO’s defense team). Makes me sick.

    05/02/2013 at 3:47 pm

I think one thing (among) many things about Jodi the jury won’t forget is when she told Juan on cross that “she didn’t like it when he jizzed on her face”. She really blew her childlike innocent game there. I loved that Juan referenced her request for that same act!

    • 05/02/2013 at 3:52 pm

that’s the really surreal nature of her persona…. she simply has no idea of what is appropriate.. not in the remotest way. It’s makes her feel creepy, it’s why even the men who see through her just want to smack her even though they’d never touch a woman normally.

      • Kristy
        05/02/2013 at 4:00 pm

I think her innocent girl look is backfiring big time. She admitted to stalking, even though she didn’t think it was stalking. It makes one look at her and wonder about what folks don’t know that gives one the creeps looking at her.

      • 05/02/2013 at 4:07 pm

    • MMD
      05/02/2013 at 4:03 pm

Well because the ground freezes here and we are on an island, once the ground thaws your lawn can be all lumpy and bumpy and so you hire a guy on a big machine that goes around and rolls it so it’s all nice and flat. Kinda like they do when they are paving a highway. The machine looks like that only its for the lawn. They are constantly having to rebuild the roads every year as well for the same reason. We only have a sandy base to start with anyway. Question??????? 🙂

I think surmise knew the whole defense was going to fall apart like a deck of cards once Jodi hit the stands. He gave it a shot, giving Jodi signals with all his nosepicking, but even the jury is onto that trick.

    • 05/02/2013 at 4:04 pm

yeah on a serious note FOL… it really does appear that way.. to a point that it;s undeniable… do you think there is even a remote chance it’s an act by The Perkster?

I tell you to me it really looks genuine and I’ve tried to see it as just professional to present the facade to the jury.. but even the most basic body language says there is genuine friendship there.. of course it’s one sided as we know.. but Perky really seems to have fallen under Jodisteins spell.

      • Kristy
        05/02/2013 at 4:08 pm

Quite frankly, I would bet there’s a lot for show. First thing Jodi’s going to do after getting convicted is through her defense team under the bus. I bet there’s a lot of CYA going on with Nurmi and Wilmett.

      • 05/02/2013 at 4:13 pm

oh ya its definitely a use and abuse by Jodistein she knows no other way… I was meaning Perky towards Jodistein.. soz probably didn’t word it right.

      • HJ Madison
        05/02/2013 at 4:14 pm

I wonder if Wilnot just MUST believe in order to “carry on”. And maybe she is a little afraid of JA and her cohorts.

      • 05/02/2013 at 4:18 pm

yes that’s another possibility… but their behaviour is so immature I wonder why Perky would allow herself to be portrayed in that light around the world if it’s just an act. I wouldn’t want to be seen behaving like that.

      • Kristy
        05/02/2013 at 4:20 pm

Actually the one that really seems taken with Jodi is her mitigation.

      • 05/02/2013 at 4:23 pm

oh yeah earlier in the trial.. esp right before and after Jodisteins testimony… that was bizarre between those two.

      • Family of Law
        05/02/2013 at 4:26 pm

I don’t think Perk could pul off that good of acting, I agree that it’s real and genuine “like”. All kidding aside about JW’s intelligence, she can’t be stupid and have made it through a decent Univ and Law school- so, she has clearly been another victim of JA’s manipulative powers- I shudder to think what it will feel like, when she SEES JA clearly-

      • 05/02/2013 at 4:32 pm

yep she can’t be stupid… can she??? 😛 maybe it’s her inexperience in these situations… I mean from what I glean and this may or may not be accurate.. this trial is kind of a big leap for her.. and throw a Jodistein into the mix and she may just be way out of her depth with it all. It’d be pretty overwhelming even to an experienced attorney I would have thought.

      • HJ Madison

Really? They use “bubbler” in Mass? It is a well loved word-use in Wes….CAWN…sin. Now “jug handle” — we are going to get our first “jug handle” soon — it will take forever for locals to understand “turn at the jug handle” doesn’t mean turn at the nearest tavern!

    • Lisa M
      05/02/2013 at 5:55 pm

Her feelings and thought processes are so shallow. There’s no way she’s crying with remorse because we know from her testimony on the stand that she has no remorse and took every chance she could to besmirch Travis. Therefore she’s not sorry for what she did. Yesterday just hours away from the prosecutor’s closing argument she still smirked when Wilmott won a point over the ME. She also mouthed the word “Wow” when Dr. Geffner mentioned something on his CV. If the time of reckoning were closing in on me, I don’t think I’d be focused on the minutia, I’d be sitting there in utter despair and terror. But that’s her mindset it’s all about winning. And when she can’t win, she cries.

  423. 05/02/2013 at 5:37 pm

look how hard she is pressing her cheek even so you can see it go white… cos she is trying to redden it.

Oh this just in…because of the overwhelming interest, for an extra $1000 you get a camera to document all your actions with what you do to the dolls. • Irie Girl
      05/02/2013 at 5:55 pm

Oops I posted to soon, if Willmott has to defend a person she finds reprehensible, she has to convince herself the defendant is innocent/justified or she risks neurosis. All the negative public backlash would have made it even more important for her psyche to believe the position she is arguing. Nurmi tried to get off the case so he can argue it without the inner conflict, he can reconcile it as an absence of choice.
I actually feel a tiny bit of compassion for these two. I hope they see the light and become prosecucters.

FOL.. to better answer your question… now I have a bit of time… it’s like her diaries.. you know how they are a projection of her persona… a kind of reinforcement of what she wishes she was….

this is like that.. she has to do the deep breathing to soothe herself, reassure herself… she’s not really that bad person…. she’s not really that evil witch… juan is just being mean to her ..

all the while her real evil self is there laughing at him still thinking it will win no matter what he does.

That same game.. deny her true nature and pretend she is an innocent victim

That’s her internal dialogue? Omg! It makes me want her vaporized!!! Truly, I just want her to KNOW, really KNOW, the jig is up! I want her to KNOW that she LOST.

      • 05/02/2013 at 6:10 pm

me too.. I am internally preparing myself for the worst because if I don’t .. I’m not sure how I would handle it.

She’s probably doing the same.. for exactly the opposite reasons and result.

Thanks for taking the time to explain Syn- SO glad your here!!!!! (Otherwise I’d be stuck with laymen opinions of “bat shit crazy, effed up, ice cold evil bitch”!

as long s you know the real explanations.. they work too! Just important to also know what these ppl really are and what they are capable of.

Alice LaToilette is a liar. Right on Juan. I can’t imagine being an expert witness who is called a liar in open court. Juan rocks!

OMG Juan is absolutely juanderful!!!!!! He is so beyond brilliant!!!! He is so calm and quiet now, kinda reverent about Travis. And I love that he said that she killed him 3 times over. No wonder he wins so many cases!!!!! I’m in complete awe…………………….

I was mesmerized when Juan was talking about the actual deed. I would imagine the court was very silent at this time. He brought Travis alive so that we could feel his dying.
