Casey Anthony Case – Things That Make You Go Hmmmm

01/21/2011

Sipping coffee and listening to the snow plows – yes, seems pretty much we’ve had snow once or twice a week, beginning with the holiday blizzard – I began to reflect on the events in the Anthony circus this week.  Is it me, or does the Big Top seem to be collapsing?

On Tuesday, we were treated to Linda Drane Burdick and Frank George’s beautifully crafted, The State Of Florida’s Response To Defendant’s Motions In Limine.  Simply put, it was a masterpiece in written legal argument!  It was precise as well as concise, logical and jam-packed with legal references.  When compared to the plethora of defense motions, the State’s response was quite clearly, superior in all aspects.  We have great insight as to how the State will prosecute this case!

To most following this case, all defense motions to date have been rambling treaties that hint or speculate, yet never provide, clear thought-out legal argument nor do they normally provide legal precedents to support their motion.  Jose Baez and Chaney Mason would well be advised to study the State’s response!  This gentlemen, is how real lawyers work!

The defense took several more huge hits yesterday!

Judge Belvin Perry rejected the defense’s Motion For Reconsideration and the sanction imposed stands.  The $583.73 assessment was issued because Mr. Baez and his ego were…in willful violation of a discovery order…” and…counsel willfully violated the very specific direction in that Order.”

Oh, and the sudden excuse that the discovery filing was late because of traffic conditions that day…?  Judge Perry basically said ‘poppycock’!  He pretty much called Baez on that fairy tale because that information hadn’t been brought up previously in court.  Perry didn’t say Baez out-and-out lied, he just made it known that he didn’t just fall off the turnip truck!

On to the Texas EquuSearch depositions.

I have to say, many of us had discussions as to doubting there was any value to the defense with these witnesses.  Many of us believed that the defense – Baez and Mason – probably fell hook, line and sinker for whatever fairy dust J. Lyons was tossing into the wind and did not actively interview these folks!  Seems we were right!

Kevin and Lisa Galloway were insistent that the area where little Caylee’s remain were found was under waist-deep water.  They were in the area on at least three occasions!   Melinda White was dragged in for a deposition and proclaimed she never even searched the exact area where the remains were found!

So, all the time and money spent harassing Tim Miller, Mark NeJame and Texas EquuSearch volunteers was for naught and the pricey fishing expedition provided the defense with a big goose egg!

Which brings us to the next defense gaff!  Baez has submitted another request for 300 more investigative hours!  Yup, that’s another $12k!

Judge Perry is surely far smarter than I, but after the whole EquuSearch fiasco, I would haul Baez’s ample butt before the bench – all the while trying to choke down the laughter – and ask him if his are truly made out of brass and just how hard is it for him to pull his over-sized noggin out of his ass!

Tomfoolery and buffoonery are what’s bringing the Big Top down!

donchais – thanks so much for the great article you posted above, it leaves no question to the reader(s)as to what is going on in circus-world. It’s beyond belief that the duhfense is asking for an additinal $12k for PI J.Lyons; how many times does this make? I wonder how itemized Lyons’ reports are-names, addresses of all those doors he knocked on with no-one home, phone calls that went un-answered; I hope JAC wants detailed, itemized info concerning this; then I hope this request is turned down, once and for all.

It is pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Really makes me sit up and say WHAT??? This PI Lyons is making a bundle on this and why..to have people who actually support SAO findings? I say this was all a bunch of crap to justify JAC monies..or is to to keek Lyons satified and his mouth shut and trueblue and loyal to defense(bet if he could talk he has ton’s to say!) or is baez skimming some of that doh ray me for himself….somthing doen’t add up …nope not one bit!!!

I must say, those searchers had to be “Lyonized”! Where in the world is “waist-deep water” proof that Caylee wasn’t there? Oh! In the sideshow House of Smoke and Mirrors!

Smoke and mirrors are all this defense has!

    donchais,

    Morning! Thank you very much!

Mrs. Linda Drane-Burdick’s motion is a masterpiece! That’s just the beginning, can’t wait to watch Mr. Ashton, Mrs. Burdick and Mr. George in action!

While I was reading your article it made me go back to the other buffoon that has left the case… yep, Todd Macaluso. Something tells me he came up with this “crazy idea” that somebody other than KC has put Caylee’s body in the swamp, he was the first to say in the hearing, he goes further to say they had proof. Yeah right! IIRC it was August of 2009. After that all the gibberish started. Many others jumped ship as well, HHJS had to recuse himself… and we were left with CM and JB. *Sigh*

Well, yesterday for all of us Caylee supporters it was “fun” when we heard HHJP denied the motion for Reconsideration against “buffoon number 1”.

Justice for Caylee will be served!

      FRG! Good point ’bout Macaluso!

Baez has found a way to pay himself with all the money that JP keeps allotting to the defense. Will every capital murder case in FL now demand the same equality as Baez? When it gets to trial and Baez has to be in court all day with NO pay he will really start sweating. I don’t think his one horse outfit can chase enough ambulances to make overhead.
No wonder OJ lived there, they get away with murder in Florida.

Dunno Mike! We shall see what waits at the end of this road…think the defense is in for a rude awakening and it may send a pretty strong message throughout Florida!

Did the DUHmfense team ever comply with the last order to itemize their billing? somehow i think not. hope the JAC shows up at the next hearing and holds their feet to the fire and makes them accountable for the bills they are padding ‘er submitting. seems some of what they are asking for in “invesigative” costs could be handled by her counsel. it appears HO-Say is going to be unprepared and just as disorganized in May as he is right now…. most of what they are begging for now appears to be mitigation witnesses that don’t WANT to be contacted.
do mitigation “witnesses” HAVE to testify? i’ve asked this on several sites can someone answer?

Even Judge Perry said many of the items listed, JAC might not pay as a clerk or sec could have done the work…like copying files!

The mitigation witness list is quite lengthy, but I doubt more than a few will be called.

As I understand it, Monday’s hearing (4 p.m., WESH will carry it), is a telephonic thing, I hope JAC comes down hard on the duhfense. I doubt that Kasey will be there, she wasn’t at the last one; she is too comfortable lounging in her dorm room.

this sight says 12,000 he gets another says 17,000. like i’ve said before all you tax payin floridins better start shoutin from the roof tops to stop the nonscence. demand boso prove he needs this money, demand he prove what he used so far or your going to get screwed for more and without any ky jelly.judge perry and jac arent demanding enough from boso, you people need to. bottom line.if in 2 and half years and all caseys money and the thousands spent already havent given a true defence then they’re just spending your money for the fun of it.

sandra, thanks for stopping by. Just an FYI, Baez only got $12,000. Ann Finnell got $5,000. Two totally separate items!

Bozo has informed the court that he will be “unavailable” from Feb. 21-25; guess he got himself some vacation pay……

Rumors abound that Baez is actually trolling for any expert who will say what he wants – that week surprisingly enough is the American Academy of Forensic Sciences 63rd annual meeting. You know Kenney Baden will be there as well as some of the current defense team! You can bet there will be a whole lot of junk science going on!
